‘SO’ much fun in Skegness!!

Skegness

Last weekend we all jumped in the family wagon and set off in the direction of the sunny Skegness to stay with our friends and see what the So Festival had to offer. Although I have visited Skegness many times since moving to Peterborough over 10 years ago for day trips here and there, this was my first time actually staying for the weekend. I don’t know why we haven’t done it before but we had such a lovely weekend with MumtoC and family, staying for that extra time meant that we could all relax without watching the clock to make sure we were on the road (and we could enjoy a yummy curry with a few beers in the evening once the children had gone to bed).

On the Sunday we started our day off at the Fairy Dell which is a gorgeous (very well maintained) outdoor paddling pool and sun trap. The children (yes the Daddies too) had a blast and Curly got his comeuppance when the Daddies took their revenge on him. Would you believe I didn’t  even know the Fairy Dell existed until after I had moved away from Skegness. If you are going to Skegness with children it’s well worth a visit (and did i mention its free!!).

Skegness was full to the brim with locals and holidaymakers all enjoying the sun, sea, sand and So Festival which was an a performing arts festival. We saw some amazing skills, awesome acts and interesting sights! The Daddies had fun on the log flume (under the pretence that Curly wanted to go on it but we were not fooled!!).

We enjoyed ice creams and donkey rides on the beach . . .
