There’s nothing worse than one of your children being poorly is there? You feel so helpless, especially when they are of an age where they can’t tell you what hurts or how they are feeling.
We have had a bug hanging around our house now for nearly two weeks, it started with Little Bean having a cough and generally feeling under the weather, then I caught it, then Beanie Boy and now Daddy but poor Beanie Boy seems to have got it the worst of everyone and it’s really knocked him.
My usually bright and happy little boy is being extremely clingy, his nose is like a tap running constantly, he has a horrible barking cough and this morning his eyes were completely stuck together. I took him to the Doctors today to see if there was anything they could do for him and saw a Doctor which I haven’t seen before and quite frankly won’t be in a rush to see again. He was very rude and abrupt and not at all gentle in his assessment of Beanie Boy. When he wanted to look in Beanie Boy’s throat, he just kept jabbing the stick at his teeth until eventually Beanie Boy opened his mouth to cry, my poor little man was distraught at his treatment and I was told “it’s just a throat infection there’s nothing you can do for him other than lots of fluids and ice lollies”. I was in and out of the room in less than 3 minutes and wondered why I had bothered, in future I shall hold out for my family Doctor at least he has patience with the children.
As for Beanie Boy, he’s sleeping right now but Mummy will be waiting with big snuggly cuddles for him the moment he wakes up!
The poor wee darling and poor Mummy too. Having just had one twin getting over an ear infection and the other twin having a bad cold my sympathies go out to you all. Big cuddles and ice pops will hopefully perk him up a bit, it works wonders for our monsters.
Thank you for your kind comment, I feel bad with one poorly child. I can’t imagine how you must feel when both of your twins are poorly. Bring on the warm weather I say so we can all get out in the fresh air! x
