When we brought our puppy, Dobby, home before Christmas we had already set up his crate next to Brambles in the kitchen with a small bed and blanket. I wanted something big enough for him to sleep on but small enough to leave space in the crate for a puppy pad in case of accidents.
Dobby the bed thief!
From the very first day, Dobby preferred Bramble’s crate with a full mattress bed. No matter how many times we moved him out of Bramble’s crate he would climb right back in there. As if by magic we received an email asking if Dobby would like to try a Silentnight pet bed.
Silentnight Pet Beds
The UK’s most trusted bed brand, Silentnight, know what is necessary for a good night’s sleep because they have been doing it for more than 7 decades. So it makes perfect sense that they also make pet beds for our fur babies to have a place to curl up and relax.
There are currently three different bed styles to choose from:
Ultrabounce
Fibres rebound after compression to keep the bed plump, cosy and comfortable.
Airmax
Features a reversible cushion with Airmax technology to enhance the circulation of airflow and freshness.
Orthopaedic
Cleverly contoured foam layer supports weight evenly to reduce pressure points and relieve sore joints.
Dobby’s Ultrabounce bed
We chose the Ultrabounce pet bed in a medium for Dobby as he often gets quite hot but doesn’t like beds which have walls. The Ultrabounce Silentnight pet bed has been the perfect addition to Dobby’s crate, how when we tell him it’s ‘bedtime’ he will happily climb into his own bed and leave Bramble to his bed and crate.
The bed cover is a soft grey quilted fabric which feels comfortable enough to lay on yet tough enough to withstand Dobby’s sharp claws when he is scratching at his blanket and toys. Most importantly the cover is removable which means that when my mucky pup rushes into his bed without having his paws wiped after a muddy run in the garden, we don’t have to worry about his bed getting dirty.
Eco-Friendly Filling
In this modern world, it’s important to be as eco-friendly as possible. We love that Silentnight’s Ultrabounce polyester fibres are made from recycled plastic bottles. Each pet bed prevents up to 40 plastic bottles being sent to landfill. These are the exact same, fluffy fibres using in their pillows and duvets.
Non-slip base
The underside of the pet bed has a non-slip surface which prevents the bed from slipping and sliding around which could cause injury. We use Dobby’s bed in his crate which fits edge to edge but when we tried it on the kitchen floor initially it didn’t move at all.
Final Thoughts
Dobby’s Silentnight pet bed has been a very welcome addition to the household, it is clear to see the high quality of the bed with the quilted fabric, piped edges and slightly larger cover to allow for ease of removal when it’s time to wash the cover. The cushion itself feels firm but cosy and provides the ideal surface for Dobby to have that all-important place to rest and call his own. The proof is most definitely in the pudding as Dobby loves to snuggle in his own crate now and we often find that Bramble has taken quite a shine to it too.
Dobby is so lucky! This looks lovely, my three dogs would love this.
He is a very lucky boy, he loves his bed very much.
This looks like such a high quality pet bed. Dobby looks very happy indeed!
One of my boys climbed in and had a lay down with Dobby, he even said “ooh this is comfy Mummy” haha
Ah what a cutie! It looks like a lovely bed and Dobby seems to love it.
Haha thank you, he is very cute and has settled in well. I think having a nice bed to retire to when tired really helps.
The cutest little dog. He is living in the lap of luxury. That bed looks so comfortable. Our cats are happiest in a box or in my little ones pram. Maybe I should treat them.
He certainly is living the life, he loves his bed.
It looks so cosy! I think I might like one… a bit bigger though 😉
Haha yes it could get a bit squishy 😉
Oh we are looking for Oscar a new pet bed and this one sounds fab! I am off to look at them now, I think he would find it really comfy!
It has got to the point where boy boys squeeze into the smaller crate now so it must be comfy if they both want to share it 🙂
Dobby looks very happy with his bed, I had no idea that silentnight made pet beds too
Nope, I had no idea either but it makes perfect sense if you think about it.
How lovely! My cats would probably like something like this!
I think your cats would be very happy indeed 🙂
I need one! Our cockapoo has made a home on our bed and won’t sleep anywhere else. To make matters worse she won’t sleep at the bottom!
Lol, good to see who is in charge. Time for a new bed I think 😉
Oh wow what a lucky boy. The cushion itself looks firm & cosy enough for him to feel comfortable.
It’s very supportive, he loves it.
I didn’t realise Silentnight did dog mattresses, that does look like a very comfy bed. We’ve always had working dogs that sleep outside in their kennel with a straw bed 🙂
Aw Bramble was a working dog, it took him a while to get used to comfort but he loves it now 🙂
