The Gallery: Animals

Woburn

I wasn’t sure whether to be excited or disappointed by Tara’s choice of theme for this week as I think I have probably already shared some of the best pictures that I have of animals at the moment but then I remembered this picture. I took this photograph last week at Woburn Safari Park on the Hyundai i40 Tourer test drive day and I still have the whole post to write up on it and to share the rest of my photographs with you.

I love this particular photograph for the detail of all the dried mud all over the rhinos body and it still freaks me out that you can actually drive through the enclosure with an animal who is covered in armour with a huge pointy battering ram on the front of his head! Whilst talking to the Hyundai staff I was asking if they’d had any trouble with the monkeys damaging any of the cars but they said at one of the other Safari Park locations one of the vehicles with an onboard camera witnessed the family’s horror as a baby rhino starting attacking the front of the car. Thankfully only the front of the vehicle was slightly damaged because it was a baby not a full-grown one but the family were still pretty horrified by it!

One other thing about the rhino which amuses me is their ears and tail, they just look liked they have been borrowed from a different animal? And their trousers need pulling up or their sleeves pulling down!

What is your favourite animal? Why don’t you head over to see the rest of this week’s offerings for The Gallery, I bet there will be some great animals over there!

    • Thank you, we had a fantastic day. The rhinos are very impressive, I really love them and hippos but you don’t get to see many hippos in captivity.
