We have been using Pampers Baby Dry Nappies with Beanie Boy for four weeks now and following their Soothology routine for a 4-6-month-old created by Sleep Expert Wendy Dean.
Hip Hip Hooray
I am ecstatic to report to you that for the past ten days, Beanie Boy has SLEPT THROUGH from 7.30 pm to 7.00 am, sometimes 7.30 am!!! I truly believe that this has happened for three reasons:
1. We have established a really good bedtime routine
You may remember that following the advice of the Soothology routine I have now managed to allow Beanie Boy to self-soothe; I no longer feed him to sleep. We are giving him all of the right ‘sleep’ signals as the same routine is followed every night and despite him always being very excited when in the bath, the minute we set foot in his bedroom, he begins to yawn and rub his eyes or pull on his ear.
2. He has a full tummy
Now that we have managed to get him to take a bottle at bedtime, he seems more satisfied with his feed, and let’s face it, we all sleep better when we have a full tummy.
3. Finding the right absorbency nappies
Thanks to New Pampers Baby Dry’s extra absorbent zones, which are 14% wider than on previous Baby Dry nappies, I can assure you that Beanie Boy is now still comfortably dry throughout the night.
We had a little slip-up in the middle of the experiment when Beanie Boy was waking up wet in the morning, but I’m pleased to say that since we have moved him onto the next size nappies following advice from the Pampers Village experts, this has not been a problem.
I think it is worth saying that the size of nappies isn’t all about the actual size and fit of the nappy but also about the absorbency. Each size of nappy is designed to cope with age-specific amounts of urine because obviously as a baby grows, so does their bladder capacity.
Both of my children have been quite small for their age, and I couldn’t comprehend that my daughter, who will be three years old in June, has only just gone into Size 5 nappies, yet my son, who is just over six months old is already in Size 3 nappies for the daytime and Size 4 for the night. It isn’t because he has a big bottom; it’s simply because he wears more than his sister does.
If you have any queries at all with your Pampers nappies, from what size your child should be wearing to which style or even if your child has a nappy rash that you are worried about, do not hesitate to contact Pampers Village, where they have experts on hand to help you and your little ones achieve the Land of Golden Sleep.
Disclaimer: For the purpose of this experiment I have been provided with Pampers Baby Dry Nappies in Size 3 and 4. All words and opinions are my own.
