Fastly becoming one of the most popular bands for kids in the country, Andy and The Odd Socks, led by children’s TV superstar Andy Day is a huge favourite for kids and parents alike.
Widely known for his TV antics tackling dinosaurs, baby animals and being on safari, Andy launched his band at Glastonbury in 2017, and they haven’t stopped since. With a host of appearances at festivals up and down the country including Camp Bestival, Big Feastival, Gloworm, Port Eliot, Shambala and CBBC Summer Social. As well as taking their sell-out show on the road for the first time over Easter 2018.
Who Invited This Lot?
Andy and the Odd Socks released their debut album ‘Who Invited This Lot?’ in November 2017. It’s an eclectic mix of the catchiest songs created especially for kids. The children love them ……and secretly, so do their parents! Tedious car journeys are a thing of the past once you play this album en route. Listen to it on Spotify!
Already proving hugely popular with Andy’s existing fan base of young children, older children and Mums and Dads admit to having their favourite songs too! Parents particularly love the subtle message the band send out to their kids, that it’s cool to be different….we are all unique and should be proud of who we are and kind and accepting of one another.
That’s what it means to be an Odd Sock.
Unique
The album is wrapped around a song called ‘Unique’, which is all about celebrating individuality and being yourself. It was quickly adopted as the anti-bullying anthem by the Anti Bullying Alliance Charity at schools during Anti-Bullying Week in November 2017.
The album ‘Who Invited This Lot’ was officially released via Universal on November 24th 2017.
Odd Socks Day
In 2017 Andy and the Odd Socks became patrons for the Anti Bullying Alliance (ABA). The band’s song ‘Unique’, and accompanying video, was used as the vehicle to promote awareness for Anti-Bullying Week in November 2017. The primary school playground is where unkind behaviour and bullying often begins. If we can reach these children and teach them to be kind and accepting at a young age, there are every chance children will feel happier and more confident as they move up the school. As children have grown up with Andy on the TV, the Odd Socks prove the perfect vehicle to reach and resonate with this age group.
This year Odd Socks Day is on Monday 12th November and the band are excited to be partnering with The Anti Bullying Alliance again this year to make Odd Socks Day 2018 an even more enormous success!
