A question for all you bloggers out there – do you ever feel like you’re trying too hard with your blog and getting nowhere. That’s where I kind of feel that I am at the moment. Perhaps its because I’m spending a lot of time at home with the children, trying to avoid all the nasty bugs that are floating around, trying to sort out a routine for Beanie Boy and trying to avoid the shops because I’ll only spend money that doesn’t need spending! I just don’t feel inspired by very much, sometimes when I want to write a post I can just sit looking at my laptop for half an hour and not be able to think of a single thing to write. Thank goodness for the 365 project – without that I think my blog would have been blank for the majority of January.
I have been writing about starting the weaning journey with Beanie Boy but I can’t really do a post every day just to tell you what he has eaten – where’s the interest in that? However, he’s doing pretty well – so far baby rice, carrots, potato, porridge and carrots with sweet potato are a hit!
One thing that’s been confusing me and making me wonder why I bother, is that BlogGrader thingamy bob? I’m getting more page views and comments now that I ever have yet my blog grading has dropped from 90-something to 16?!?!?!?!? I’m not normally swayed much by rankings etc. As long as SOMEONE is reading my blog and I’m getting a few comments here and there then I’m happy but to be honest, BlogGrader has made me feel pretty meh!
Perhaps I need a blogging holiday? I think Beanie Boy’s night feeds are catching up with me – I have a stinking cold and feel pretty much brain dead. If I go away for a while, will you still love me tomorrow?
I decided last week that I wanted to spend more time reading other people’s blogs – not just dipping in and out of them, I mean actually reading them from the start and getting to “know” the person behind the blog. I realised that although I had read lots of different people’s posts I didn’t really know very much about the people writing them. I put a tweet out asking for suggestions of where to start and I received a response from @Lincolnandme suggesting that I start with @mintyking, so I did! I really enjoyed just reading, having a peak into someone else’s world, from there I then decided to read @Lincolnandme’s own blog and now now I’m half way through @Mammywoo’s. I have loved the way that all three ladies write, they are so easy to read and many of their posts have had me laughing out loud. I wonder sometimes where other people get their inspiration from because it just seems to flow. Next on my list of “to read” is @Michelletwinmum – yes I actually have a list building up. If there is any blogs out there that you think SHOULD NOT BE MISSED please comment below.
By for now – I’ll be back when the mood takes me – could be tomorrow, could be in two weeks!
Hiya! Keep going, I love reading your blog! In fact on Monday night I had a dream that I’d written a mummy blog because you’d inspired me! Maybe you could write about tired mum’s who suffer from car park road rage, ha ha! Hope you’re ok? X
LMAO I’d forgotten about that! Perhaps you SHOULD start a blog – go on it would be fun!!
I’m ok I think, just been having one of those weeks I guess. We must catch up soon xx

Please don’t take a break, I love reading your posts. I know what you mean though; I’m not feeling the love this week.
Actually yours is the first blog I’ve read from scratch but that’s cos we were tweeting when you started up – sorry I forgot to mention you!! X
Thank you – I do love my blog, as you say it’s great to look back on as the children grow. I think I’m just having a bad week x
