Making the most of the outdoors with Mountain Warehouse

We have been regular customers of Mountain Warehouse for years since we love being outdoors. We are lucky enough to have three stores very close to us. They always have a large choice in clothing, camping gear, cycling and other outdoor equipment and they don’t leave a gaping hole in your wallet.

Just before Christmas I was asked if I would like to choose items from Mountain Warehous to review on the blog. Initially I chose some walking boots for me but unfortunately they were too big so I needed to return them and then they weren’t in stock so I chose alternate items instead.

This Nevis Button Neck Fleece is lined with soft fleece to keep you warm and is breathable so you don’t overheat. The button neck makes a nice change from zips too. I wore mine this weekend when we went to Rutland together with my Kaniksu Braided Beanie Hat and Faux Fur Womens Touch Screen gloves. The hat is lined with thick, warming fleece and kept me toasty warm on our three mile walk. The touch screen gloves enabled me to take photographs on my Lumia 1020 with warm hands thanks to the touch screen pads on the thumb and first finger.

Little Bean chose the Thistle kids shoe in purple. She is always outside with her brothers scooting, cycling and chasing around so she needs footwear that won’t see her slipping over. She will also be doing the Race for Life with me again this Summer so these will be the perfect walking shoes for her especially with the bright pink flashes – perfect!

Curly is now of the age where he is starting to go out and about by himself a little more. He loves to get out on his bike and will often pop to the shops or down to the local bike/skate park on his BMX. We want him to be safe and seen so we chose this Bike Lights and Lock set which also means he can pop into the shops and secure his bike outside too.

The final item I chose hasn’t actually been used ‘outdoors’ yet but I have put it to the test at home because I was sceptical about how useful a Micro Towel really would be but I am impressed. They pack up really small and they dry super quick so they will be ideal for our camping holidays in the summer or for when staying somewhere when towels aren’t provided. With a family of 6 space is limited for packing so we need to pack small and lightweight. I shall definitely be buying more of these!
