Have you ever stayed away in a beautiful hotel and almost staged a sit-in when it’s time to go home because you don’t want to leave the glamorous bathroom behind? I have, I take lots of photographs of all the little details so that I can recreate the same effects back at home. It’s not as hard as you think if you follow these style tips;
What defines a glamorous bathroom?
A glamorous bathroom has traditional and stylish furnishings which create a clean and clutter-free bathroom in which you can relax and unwind. Want to give your bathroom a glam touch? Get creative design inspiration for your bathroom from Harrogate Bathroom Showroom.
Choosing Bathroom Units and Appliances
Look for bathroom units and appliances with sleek lines with rounded edges for a softer look. Remember you want something glamorous and luxurious not modern and edgy. Think along the lines of roll-top baths placed in the centre of a large bathroom for movie-star glamour.
Fixtures and Fittings
The fixtures and fittings such as taps and shower risers need to be simple with clean lines. I stayed in one hotel with a waterfall tap which was divine, can you imagine the sound as the bath was running? Opt for wall-mounted shower risers and wall-hung toilets with the sink set into a stylish vanity unit with lots of storage to keep the counters free from clutter.
Walls and Floors
Aim for understated elegance, think subtle patterns in warm shades or pastels. Perhaps something with a bit of sparkle to it? You could choose marble floors with a gold or silver fleck to it or shimmery wall tiles for a spot of glitz.
Also, choose mirrors or artwork which are a little different from the norm, think more Vogue, less Ikea. Oversized mirrors like this one from Wayfair look amazing in a bathroom to increase light and give a feeling of grandeur.
Shower Enclosures
If you are putting a shower in your bathroom then look for frameless shower enclosures to keep the lines to a minimum and avoid shower curtain at all costs, these rarely look glamorous. Choose large shower heads or maybe a steam shower for that additional spa treatment.
Lighting
Provided your bathroom is big enough to take it then choose a chandelier or add mood lighting for when you want to relax in your bath without the harsh lights affecting your zen-like state.
Bathroom Accessories
When choosing bathroom accessories, think of big fluffy towels, large candles and exotic flower arrangements like orchids. Wooden bath mats will give the spa-like touches whilst glass and metal accessories will add the shimmer and shine.

This is so interesting! My husband’s parents have just decorated their bathroom and taken a lot of these tips onboard 🙂
What we would really love is for the hotel’s interior design to do it all for us but I think that could get expensive 😉
Ooh! I would love a glamorous spa style bathroom so these tips are very useful – thanks! One day we will get to redesign our bathroom which is very 70s at the moment. (Not in a good retro way!)
Haha, I think I get your meaning 😉 the fun with that though is that when you do redesign you will see a massive contrast x
Wow! That bathroom is super stylish with those arches. I love a white bathroom with splashes of chrome and granite
I know, I’m seriously coveting those arches they look amazing x
Oh this is really handy, we are looking to get a new bathroom soon and I would love it to look a little glamorous x
We all need a splash of glamour in our lives, even if it is only in our bathroom x
I love these tips. We’re buying a new build at the moment and we’ve just got to pick our fixtures and fittings for the bathroom and the tiling. We’re going for a real ‘hotel bathroom’ look and we’ve picked lots of white and chrome to go with some really gorgeous tiles.
Ooooh how exciting, we actually found that the most stressful part of buying a new build. I changed my mind weekly!!
Love those ideas and i must say that this mirror is a true show stopper itself ! love the arched shape
There’s something about an archway isn’t there? They look amazing x
Oh wow I do love that bathroom – those windows, it looks stunning. So many ideas, but tiles and lighting are a great way to make a bathroom lovely xx
You’re so right, tiles and lighting give an instant uplift to any bathroom x
