As Easter approaches, I’m always on the lookout for the best family-friendly events to make the holiday special for my loved ones. Easter 2025 in the UK offers a plethora of exciting activities, from traditional egg hunts to unique adventures. Here’s a curated list of some top Easter events happening across the country that promise fun for the whole family.
Easter Egg Hunts and Trails

National Trust Easter Egg Hunts
The National Trust hosts family-friendly Easter trails at many of its properties. For a small fee (£3.50, children can embark on a quest, following clues around historic sites and beautiful gardens, culminating in a chocolate egg reward. It’s a delightful way to explore nature and heritage while enjoying the Easter festivities.
Lindt Gold Bunny Hunt at Hampton Court Palace
From 29th March to 21st April, Hampton Court Palace invites families to join the annual Lindt Gold Bunny Hunt. Wander through the palace gardens, searching for hidden Lindt Gold Bunny statues. Each discovery brings you closer to a delicious chocolate treat.
Easter Adventure Quest at Audley End House and Gardens
Between 5th and 27th April, Audley End House and Gardens offers an Easter Adventure Quest. Families can crack clues hidden around the grounds, leading to a tasty chocolate reward. It’s an engaging way to immerse in history while celebrating Easter. Book online and save 15%
Hockerhill Adventure Playbarn, Brewood, Staffordshire

What: Explorers can crack the code in a specially designed trail that takes them across the playbarn and its outdoor area. Chocolate prizes will be rewarded to everyone who identifies the correct word from all the clues and there will be egg-stra special games to be enjoyed with the iconic Easter Bunny.
The vast indoor building houses a grand mock oak tree, forming the centrepiece of the play area and offering climbing and fun hiding spots for children to discover. Guests can find bridges, tunnels, high-level walkways and slides in the indoor section. For thrill-seekers there is a pedal go-kart track, where drivers can line up on the start line indoors and speed outside onto the winding tarmac track to set their best lap times. Open year-round, the spacious outdoor area at Hockerhill includes zip lines, swings, slides, sand pit and a bespoke toddler area as well as outdoor seating and picnic benches.
Food and drink is made fresh on-site using as many locally sourced ingredients as possible. The menu includes Tessa’s Homemade Granola, shakshuka or a full English, with a tasty poke bowl or Halloumi salad, stone-baked pizzas, or Chillington beef burger for lunch. The ‘Little Acorns’ menu for children offers mini breakfasts as well as hearty mains.

Stonor Park & Tumblestone Hollow, near Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire

What: Tumblestone Hollow’s Enchanted Easter Trailreturns to the woodland adventure playground. Riddles, rhymes and 12 hand-painted wooden eggs are dotted around the unique playground as well as Stonor’s gardens. The one-of-a-kind and delicately decorated wooden eggs are painted by a local school as part of a class art project, inspired by Damien Hirst’s Blossom Series.
The popular nature walk also returns this year, designed to highlight the nature in Stonor’s parkland which lies in the heart of the picturesque Chiltern Hills. With raptors including buzzards, red kites, as well as fallow deer, hares, rabbits and plenty of insects, the Nature Trail encourages families to release their inner David Attenborough and learn facts and complete their activity sheet whilst surrounded by pretty spring bulbs and tree blossom.
As well as the trails, families can use their teamwork skills to build the ultimate woodland den and visit the playground’s bug hotel. Tumblestone Hollow’s Rumble Hut serves authentic wood-fired pizzas with a variety of toppings, as well as an Easter-themed chocolate crêpe, classic burgers and fries, American-style milkshakes and creamy Italian gelato.

Raby Castle, Park and Gardens and High Force Waterfall, County Durham

What: County Durham’s Raby Castle, Park and Gardens has a line-up of Easter activities for all the family. There will be a special Easter Egg themed trail in The Plotters’ Forest woodland adventure playground, woven amongst the Christmas trees, as well as a nature inspired trail in the historic Deer Park, where new organic sculptures will sit in the landscape that has been home to Raby deer for centuries.
In the Walled Gardens, there will be an exhibition in the beautiful conservatory focusing on the story and history of the five-acre space, including the recent remodelling which was led by renowned garden and landscape designer Luciano Giubbilei and Lady Barnard, plus a new Easter Food and Craft Fair will be taking place over the bank holiday weekend (18th – 21st April).
Visitors looking to turn their time at Raby into a weekend break can spend a night or two at The High Force Hotel, a cosy inn on the Raby Estate which has recently seen several rooms redesigned bringing more colour into guests’ stays. Just a short walk from the magnificent High Force Waterfall, the destination is perfect for couples and families with dog-friendly rooms perfect for four-legged friends.
High Force Waterfall, which is a 30-minute drive from Raby Castle, Park and Gardens, will be hosting a new woodland trail during the Easter holidays helping families make the most of being outdoors in nature.

Jurassic Arcade – Grand Arcade, Cambridge

Our Jurassic Arcade event is coming back… Giant animatronic dinosaurs will invade Grand Arcade from 3rd April. Take part in our trail, meet with baby dinos, discover T-Rex painted by schools and enter our competitions!
We invite our adventurous visitors to join our Free Jurassic Trail to discover full-size dinosaurs… Watch out, they will be roaring throughout the centre!
Free Jurassic Trail Map will be available to guide dino fans across this unique exhibition – a journey through more than 250 million years to see the most incredible
animals that lived on Earth.
You will cross paths with the famous and fearsome Tyrannosaurus Rex, and amazing species, like the Ceratosaurus, Plateosaurus, Kentrosaurus, Triceratops and Troodon.
Make sure to look for them on every floor of Grand Arcade. You might even be able to enter a giant Dinosaur egg for a memorable picture!
Uncover interesting facts about the prehistoric era and the remarkable dinosaurs who lived in it. Each statue will be accompanied by specialist, educational information created in collaboration with the dino experts at the Sedgwick Museum of Earth Sciences, University of Cambridge.
For the creative little explorers, we will launch a competition to imagine and design a Cam-saurus. We will turn the drawing from the winner into a unique and personalised soft toy!
We will also display a series of T-REX, designed by six local schools. Vote for your favourite one and the winning school will get a £300 gift card offered by Grand Arcade.
Finally, meet with rangers and baby dinos during our Dinoshow – £4 per child, £4 per adult – Book a session to secure your spot!

Easter in Altrincham: A Town Full of Fun, Adventure & Holiday Activities!
Altrincham is set for an egg-citing Easter with a packed calendar of family-friendly events, workshops, and holiday clubs!
Join Hare and his friends for an Easter Adventure! Organised by Altrincham BID, who produce Visit Altrincham this FREE family town trail runs from Friday 11th – Monday 21st April, 10am-4pm daily. Hare is hosting an Easter Party, but his mischievous woodland friends are hiding in shop windows across town! Can you find them all and unscramble the special mystery Easter message? Once you crack the code, head to Everyman Altrincham for a special treat!
Other Easter events in Altrincham include FREE Community Growing Club Workshops with Bounceback Food on 10th, 14th, 15th & 16th April. These hands-on gardening and sustainability workshop for children have been funded by Altrincham BID and can be booked on Eventbrite.co.uk.

Belvoir Castle, Grantham, Leicestershire

What: Here to help parents juggle family entertainment over Easter, Boom Circus will be at Belvoir Castle with its talented team of acrobats, jugglers and aerial athletes performing two shows a day and wowing the crowds with their astonishing routines.
Audiences will see breathtaking ground acrobatics and jaw-dropping aerial feats, which have plenty of theatrical flair, comedic timing, storytelling and audience involvement. The central character ‘Bert’ will have the crowds roaring with laughter and oohing with disbelief as he conquers his fears in a performance that defies gravity – taking guests on a journey of love and friendship.
If visitors are inspired by the Boom Circus’ performances, they can take part in a Circus Skills Workshops hosted by Circus Wunderbar on 19th, 20th and 21st April. Adults and children can immerse themselves in the traditional skills that are essential for performers, including juggling, unicycling, stilt walking, hula hooping, diabolo and plate spinning.
A hub for families throughout the year, visitors can also ‘clown around’ on Belvoir Castle’s Adventure Playground, with a circus themed trail and a variety of crafting activities inspired by Boom Circus’ performances. The playground is inspired by the architecture of the Castle itself, with a giant timber castle, ship and towers perfect for fantasy-filled adventures. With multiple levels and areas to explore, the secret climbing wall and zip wires are firm favourites for all visitors.
For adults, take a walk around the castle’s formal gardens as they burst into life in spring and enjoy some retail therapy at Belvoir Castle’s Retail Village.

Family Activities at The Postal Museum
This Easter, The Postal Museum in London will be exploring history, celebrating culture and helping families create something meaningful together.
Inspired by the Voices of Resistance: Slavery and Post in the Caribbean exhibition, families are invited to explore creativity as a form of resistance. Through hands-on activities, families will learn how art helps people express their creativity, share their stories and connect with others.
Activities are drop-in on a first come first served basis and are all included in the ticket price for The Postal Museum.

Our new exhibitionexplores St. Thomas in the United States Virgin Islands – a Caribbean island home to many expressive murals. Inspired by these murals – and those to be found in the surrounding Camden area – we’ll be creating designs using pictures, colours and messages of joy and activism. These individual creations will come together to form a temporary collective mural that will symbolise the role of the individual within the wider community, and celebrate the power of murals to express creativity.
David Gibb’s Family Jukebox – The Story Museum, Oxford
Join musician, David Gibb, for a morning of brilliant live music that everyone in the family will enjoy!
Give your family a musical experience to remember with David Gibb’s Family Jukebox. Join David and his magical, musical Jukebox as he takes you on a trip through his hilarious and often surreal imagination, where wolves roam the school corridors, dragons live under the bed and teddy bears dance the night away at the disco.
With lots of audience interaction and joining in, David’s songwriting draws on a wide range of musical influences and genres including jazz, folk, reggae, and rock ‘n’ roll. Try Out the Organ! with Ben Collyer

Come and try the biggest and most powerful musical instrument – the organ! In a workshop with organist Benjamin Collyer, you’ll get the chance to discover how the organ works, and explore the keys, pedals, and stops. Beegu – Unicorn Theatre, London

Beegu, based on the beloved book by Alexis Deacon, is adapted and directed by Debbie Hannan. This heart-warming stage adaptation tells the story of Beegu, a friendly alien who finds herself stranded on Earth, trying to make friends. Little Night – Unicorn Theatre, London

Little Night is a multi-sensory interactive show for toddlers, directed by Eulalia Ribera and Jordi Colominas. Through engaging projections and soundscapes, this playful and imaginative experience allows children to explore a fairytale world, stimulating their senses and creativity. The show lasts approximately 30 minutes and encourages interactive exploration.
Toucan Theatre UK Tour – Oldham Coliseum

Toucan Theatre will delight audiences across the UK, with two incredible immersive, multisensory productions—The Naughty Fox and The Noisy Dinosaur. Designed to include every child, both productions will puppeteer Jellycat toys using an original score, light projection and interactive play, to bring to light themes of kindness, friendship, and self-expression. With creative captions, high contrast imagery – to engage babies in their first few months, as well as inclusive for children with partial blindness and visual impairments – and reduced audience performances for PMLD/SEND groups. Toucan Theatre will curate inclusive first experiences of live theatre as they tour to Oldham.
Home Song – Unicorn Theatre & Talawa

In an exciting co-production between leading Black theatre company Talawa and children’s Unicorn Theatre will present a multi-sensory piece show that explores identity and heritage through music and song. Devised by theatre-maker and composer Cassiopeia Berkeley-Agyepong (Xpressions, Lyric Hammersmith; In the deep, Almeida Theatre), Home Song is inspired by Berkeley-Agyepong’s own family history, blending beautiful puppetry, soundscapes, a cappella, and sensory games.
Greenwich Children’s Theatre Festival – Greenwich Theatre

Greenwich Children’s Theatre Festival in Spring 2025 will provide magical stage adaptations of beloved children’s books from Eric Carle, Julia Donaldson, Sara Ogilvie and Bethan Woollvin. Greenwich Theatre’s 18th edition of the highly anticipated festival offers an unforgettable Easter day out for children and their grown-ups, with highlights including The Detective Dog, The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show and Fireman Sam Live!

Sundown Adventureland, Retford, Nottinghamshire

What: Sundown Adventureland’s Eggbert’s Easter Egg Trail returns to the theme park for the under 10s and asks little explorers to find all the missing eggs that are secretly stashed away all over the attraction. Take on the search and look for cracking clues at all of Sundown’s play areas and rides from Rocky Mountain Railroad to Market Square and Monkey Mayhem Driving School to Angry Birds Activity Park.
Once completed, all children receive a sweet Easter treat at Pumpkin Patch Cafe to enjoy as they explore the rest of the vast park, which has over 30 attractions including rides, interactive areas and themed play areas. Tractor Ride, Jolly Pirate Boat Ride, Storybook Village and the multiple indoor soft plays are popular with visitors of all ages.
To fuel families for a busy day, Sundown has several food and drink outlets across the park, including Pumpkin Patch Cafe and Crash Landings, the ultimate indoor soft play, which serves a selection of refreshments, breakfast rolls, sandwiches and hot lunches.
