Benefits of wearing perfumes – #MondayMeTime

I can’t actually remember when my love affair with perfumes began but I’m guessing it was watching my Mum spraying herself with beautiful fragrances when I was a child. Now that I am an adult I have a whole shelf full of perfumes which I wear according to my mood or occasion.

Have you ever stopped to think about how wearing perfume benefits you? It’s something which I consider as I have definitely noticed that some perfumes really have the ability to lift my mood. A few years ago Simon and I even had a go at making our own fragrances on a trip to France.

You smell nice

Nobody likes to think that they smell bad or unpleasant. It’s only natural to want to smell fresh and pleasant all day long. Body odour can be a real challenge for some individuals, impacting their confidence and social interactions. Luckily, wearing perfume can be a great solution to combat this issue. It helps mask any unpleasant odours and maintains a pleasant scent throughout the day, making you feel confident and comfortable in your own skin. Perfume truly adds that extra touch of freshness and helps you leave a lasting impression on those around you. With a wide range of fragrances to choose from, including popular brands and unique blends, finding the perfect scent to suit your style is easy when you can enjoy free shipping over £45.00 at The Essence Vault.

Confidence booster

If I am heading out for the day I never feel like I’m ‘ready’ until I have given myself a spritz of perfume. Just as I know that popping on some makeup and nice clothes will make me feel good, knowing that I smell nice adds to my confidence.

Evokes memories

This one is a biggie for me, I am a ‘memories’ kind of person and will often associate smells with places and points in time. I have perfumes that remind me of amazing holidays, or treasured relatives and of special occasions.

Aromatherapy

When the Beans were babies I attended an aromatherapy class and have quite the collection of oils as a result. I have used them to treat headaches, colds, sore throats, Albie’s tummy troubles and when the children haven’t been able to sleep. Aromatherapy has many health and well-being benefits.

Physical attraction/aphrodisiac

Since perfumes are rich in pheromones (pheromones are a chemical substance produced and released by animals and mammals which affects the behaviour of others) they can act like a natural aphrodisiac attracting others to you. You could even add some additional pheromones from somewhere like True Pheromones for an even more powerful effect.

Enhance your mood

Taking into account all of the above, perfumes have a great ability to enhance your mood. If you are feeling confidant and reminiscing on happy memories, your mood will instantly be lifted. It’s not just that though, fragrances can project your mood no matter how you are feeling. I definitely have different perfumes for different days depending upon how I feel. My favourite is getting that brand new bottle of perfume and opening the box to reveal the beautiful bottle hidden within, it always raises a smile and a sense of excitement.

What’s your favourite fragrance and why?

  1. I’m super fussy with perfumes, at the moment there is only one I’ll wear – Jo Malone Peony and Blush Suede – but I absolutely ADORE it. I used to save perfume for when I went out, but now I believe they’re supposed to be worn and enjoyed, and I spray some on every single day. If I forget, I don’t feel right!!!! xx
