Aquabeads Jewel Rings

As the summer holidays got into full swing Little Bean settled down for a morning of crafting Aquabeads style. I knew without taking these out of the box that Little Bean would love it because she is a big fan of Hama Beads but at least with Aquabeads she would be able to do the whole process herself since there is no need for an iron to set the design.

In the box, there are:

  • 500 jewel beads
  • 1 bead case
  • 1 curved layout tray
  • 6 ring bodies
  • 8 template sheets
  • 1 sprayer
  • 1 set of instructions

Aquabeads are aimed at children aged 4 years and over. I think if this had not been a ‘jewellery’ set then Beanie Boy would have loved getting stuck in too. Little Bean was able to set herself up and make her ring without any intervention from me.

The only ‘mishap’ she had was in not reading the instructions carefully where it told her to leave her design to dry after spraying with water to allow it to set. Unfortunately, she tried to pick her design up straight after spraying it and ended up with her beads stuck to her fingers but a swift rescue mission from Mummy soon rectified the situation and the design was allowed to set and dry.

Later we turned the design over and sprayed the back too ensuring that it was fully sealed.

Aquabead jewel rings in three easy steps

1. Make your design by laying the beads out on the tray either by following a template or designing your own.

2. Spray with water and leave to dry (repeat on the reverse of the design).

3. Carefully attach to the ring body and your design is complete!

This is definitely something I would buy for Little Bean again or as gifts for friends as it’s an affordable activity to keep children entertained both during the long summer holidays or on a rainy day stuck indoors.
