Today Beanie Boy turned 6 weeks so it was time for his 6-week check-up. Last Thursday I went to the baby clinic and he weighed 9lb 9oz which meant that he had put on roughly 5oz per week since he was born. Today he weighed 10lb 3oz which meant he had put on a whopping 8oz in less than a week!!!
Happy Health Visitor – Happy Mum
The Health Visitor was really pleased with his progress which was a really welcome sign for me. When I was breastfeeding Little Bean everyone was constantly worrying about her weight as she only put on a couple of ounces a week. She has remained healthy and looks in proportion but it has been a stressful journey through breastfeeding and weaning.
Milestones
Developmentally he is lighting our lives with the biggest most beautiful smiles and giggles, he jumps at loud noises, he gives me loads of lovely wet and dirty nappies – basically, he’s doing everything it says on the tin!!
Check-up for Mummy
As for me, my official 6-week check isn’t until later in the week but today I had my check at the hospital physiotherapy department for my 3rd-degree tear. I had been dreading this appointment because since having Beanie Boy not one person has checked my stitches!!
Next time . . .
I saw my Midwife 3 times and each time she said she would check me “next time”. For all, I knew I had been sewn up wonky!!! I had asked Hubby to take a look and tell me if he thought everything looked okay, the response was “well yeah I think it looks the same”. Well, that’s good then?!?!?
Phew!
But today I heard the news that I wanted to hear, “you’ve healed beautifully and . . . . . you’re nice and tight!”. Well really!?!? Hubby will be pleased!
Glad you’re feeling okay lovely! And that you didn’t get sewn up wonky or loosely 🙂
Thank you, me too! 😉
