For some people, jewellery is just something they wear to accessorise an outfit. For me, jewellery is so much more, it’s a memory, a piece from time, something to be treasured. It’s very rare that I ever part with a piece of jewellery because each piece has a special place in my heart.
I remember the first time I saw a piece of Merci Maman jewellery like it was yesterday, it was in fact 2 years ago when I went on a blogging trip with Sophie to Germany. Hung around Sophie’s neck was a gorgeous necklace on a blue cord with three gold hearts on it. Never one to be shy about asking where something came from I quickly asked Sophie where her necklace was from. She told me all about Merci Maman and explained that each of the gold hearts represented each of her children, on one side was their real name and on the other, her special nickname for them. I decided there and then that I would, at some point, have such a necklace for my own children.
I am very pleased to say that I am now the very proud owner of such a necklace and I LOVE it soooooo much! Whenever I wear it, I receive compliments. Like Sophie I have three hearts, one for each of my children and they each know which heart belongs to them. When Jelly Bean arrives I shall be having it restrung to add a further heart to it. Hubby also has a wristband which the children gave him for Father’s Day and earlier this month I bought a Heart Charm bracelet as a birthday gift.
Two weeks ago, as nighttime was drawing in, my Mum and I made our way down to London to attend a very special evening with the team from Merci Maman to celebrate their 5th birthday AND the opening of their new premises in Fulham. As I expected the Merci Maman team were all lovely, very welcoming and friendly. It was clear to tell that they were all good friends and that they all love the job they do.
Over the past 5 years, Merci Maman has gone from strength to strength and very modestly has accumulated some high profile customers who also love their work. They didn’t even realise that they had featured on TV recently until I tweeted to tell them so. Being a fan of Don’t Tell the Bride I had spotted their eye-catching orange gift box on an episode and they were over the moon.
So what will the next 5 years hold in store for Merci Maman? Who knows, the world is their oyster!! What I do know is what the future holds as far as their Christmas range is concerned as I was able to have a sneaky look and I definitely like what I saw . . .
