Its no use crying over spilt Baileys! Is it?

Well today the first of our house moves began.  All was going pretty well, Hubby and my FIL (Father-In-Law) managed to get two truck loads of stuff moved before lunch whilst I continued with the packing.  Even Little Bean was a BIG help by packing some of her toys into boxes with me and then having a lovely 2 hour nap which left me free to get on.

At lunchtime we stopped for some yummy fish & chips and a well-earned rest.  But that is pretty much where the day ceased to be going smoothly.  Hubby and my FIL set off after lunch with the next truck load and after about half an hour I received a phone call from Hubby to say that he had managed to lock himself out of the house with the keys INSIDE!!!  Because this is a rental property and they only had two sets of keys, we had only been given one set so the Agent could keep the second set.  So off I toddled to the Agents to see if I could borrow his set of keys to let Hubby in.  Just my luck, he wasn’t in but he’d given his keys to the electrician to go in and do electrical testing.  Like a stalker I found out where the Agent was and drove to the house he was doing a valuation on and sat patiently outside waiting for him to come out.  He looked very surprised to see me and I think I managed to convince him that I wasn’t some weirdo client with a crush on him – just a frustrated wife trying to get her Hubby out of a pickle!  Thankfully the electrician hadn’t been to the house yet so he said that he would get him to let them in when he got there in 15 minutes or so.

Finally, things started to pick up again.  My MIL (Mother-In-Law) had been kindly looking after Little Bean at home, hanging out my washing, doing a bit of ironing and starting to pack up my kitchen before heading off with Little Bean to collect Curly from work.  I went home and managed to get pretty much all of Little Bean’s bedroom packed and half of the dressing room before I received another call from Hubby.  Could I please go over to the house and do some sorting whilst the electrician was there so that he could come home and load up the van again.  Being pregnant I was worried that I might get hungry (hey that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it!) because I wasn’t sure how long I would be stuck there so I decided to grab myself a bag of crisps (very healthy) and a drink.  But when I opened the cupboard everything came crashing out at me, including my extra large bottle of Baileys which my Mum had bought me for my birthday (2 days ago) and was waiting for the day that I wasn’t pregnant or breastfeeding to drink it.  Yes you’ve guessed it, it smashed all over the kitchen floor and all I could do was watch and take in the aroma (mmmmmm) as it glugged its way across the kitchen floor.  GUTTED is an understatement, I actually thought I was going to cry (I didn’t – but I was close).  I HATE breaking things and especially when they are new and you know that its totally just wasting money.  Oh well tomorrow is another day and I’m sure it will be better than today!

When I moved in there was a shiny new bottle of baileys waiting for me on the windowsill. I suspected it was my Mother-in-Law but she says it was the fairies, so I told her that I loved the fairies! x
