Ok so I need to get this into perspective, people have bad luck and people have BAD luck, we’re just having not great luck at the moment. Last week I was told that the work I was doing from home is no longer available and so my job was to come to an end, which included having to hand back my laptop that I have had for two years. My first thought was “great no money” and then reality struck, “no laptop”. That is tantamount to cutting my right arm off!!!! I emailed my boss to ask if I could perhaps purchase my laptop off him at a reduced price as I have used it for over two years now and to be honest, really can’t afford to buy a new one. A week later he hasn’t come back to me with an answer and then last night, my laptop died! Not just a little whimper of a crash, no it has turned up its toes and does not want to play anymore. Clearly it didn’t want to be parted from me either! So how am I writing this post you may ask? I’ve borrowed my Mum’s for the evening.
This morning whilst cleaning the house, our hoover also decided that it had had enough. This is the third and it would appear the final time that our hoover was to threaten to part company with us. On the last two occasions we have managed to fix it but today we had to admit defeat.
Our washing machine has decided to help our with other household cleaning by washing the floor everytime we switch it on by spilling half of the water out the bottom all over the floor in the utility room and we have also had a couple of very unwanted bills turn up.
We’ve been really making an effort lately to make a little extra money to enable us to have days out with the kids, buy a couple of new bits for the house and just generally add to the household funds (no we’re not in trouble it just never hurts to try a little harder). Thanks to ebay, car boots and my Avon round we’ve brought a few extra pennies in but they have now been completely swallowed up. I know I could look at it that it hasn’t taken money from our bank account as such but we had plans for the money we had managed to save and now its gone – I just feel a little peeved to be honest.
Aside from that there are a few ‘not-great’ things going on with close members of our family at the moment and it just makes you wonder what on earth is going on. This is a new year and so far it just seems to be tainted, I hope this isn’t a sign of things to come and that our luck will change soon.

Big hugs hunni, we too are having a really bad year so far, J’s hating school, my torn muscle in my leg, hubby’s back injury and now he’s been told by the doctor and physio that he has to change careers, his back is that bad, he’s done the same thing since he was 16 so we haven’t a clue what he’s going to do now. That along with failing therapy for J and arguments with “the powers that be” over things that J should be entitled to……… who knows what’s next *sigh*
Hope things improve for you my lovely xxxxx
Oh I’m sorry to hear things are not going well with you, I’ve read most of your posts recently but haven’t always managed to comment as my ipod has a hissy fit when I try. My problems are little in comparison to yours, they’re just doing my head in!
I really hope things improve for you very soon xxxx
