#ad – The children were each gifted a jacket from the Dare2b kids range for this post.
We have never been the type of family to stay indoors at the weekend or during holidays; you will generally find us romping through fields, walking along beaches, climbing hills and any other adventure we can squeeze in. The thing is, living in the UK, the weather doesn’t always play ball with our plans, so for that reason, we have to be prepared for all weather forecasts. The children have each chosen a new jacket from the Dare2b kids range, which will be perfect for the Summer right through to Autumn.
Kids’ In The Lead II Hooded Waterproof Jacket
The boys both wanted lightweight rainproof coats as they tend to run about a lot and get hot very easily. They needed jackets that were lightweight enough to keep them cool whilst still protecting them from the elements such as the wind and the rain.
The Kids in the Lead II hooded waterproof jacket ticks all the boxes for them and comes in a large range of colours, so they had plenty of options to choose from without having to look like I had dressed them as twins – apparently, that is no longer cool!!
Ollie is going through a black and grey phase with his clothing choices, so I wasn’t shocked when he opted for the Black Ebony Grey; I was slightly appeased with his choice as it does at least have a shock of orange the zip, which I love.
Albie still loves colour and chose Ultramarine Green Jelly Bean Green. Incidentally, his nickname on the blog used to be Jelly Bean, so it was pretty apt that he chose this colourway, and I think it really suits him.
Jacket features:
- Waterproof and breathable Ared 20/20 polyester 4-way stretch fabric

- Adjustable cuffs
- 2 x zipped lower pockets
- Adjustable shockcord hem age 7+
- Part mesh, part polyester taffeta lining
- 1 x internal zip pocket incl. headphone port age 7

Kids Cavalier Waterproof Insulated Hooded Ski Jacket
Lillie wanted a coat that would keep her warm and cosy on our all-weather dog walks. I am amazed that she didn’t choose a black coat, if I am honest, but then again, teal is her second favourite colour. From the moment she first tried it on, she commented on how soft and cosy it felt. Even though the jacket is insulated for cooler weather, it doesn’t feel too bulky, something she really doesn’t like.
We love a wet and muddy dog walk, so this will be ideal for keeping her warm and happy.
The cavalier has some great features which really make it stand out from the crowd; the winners for Lillie are the inner zip pocket for her mobile phone and the cuff ski pass pocket.
