When planning a Christmas shopping trip with my Mum, we needed somewhere central, comfortable, and well-equipped for our needs. We chose the Aparthotel Adagio Birmingham City Centre, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. Here’s our review explaining why it left such a lasting impression on us.
A Warm Welcome in the City Center

We arrived at the Aparthotel in Birmingham straight from the train. It is a short 15-minute walk from Birmingham New Street Station (though it took longer as we initially went the long route!) in the Colmore business district. Check-in was smooth and efficient, setting the tone for a great stay.
The receptionist, Sofia, greeted us warmly, took care of our bags, and gave us a receipt for later collection. The reception area was bright and clean, with a small shop offering essentials for those “oops, I forgot!” moments. This thoughtful touch was a great first impression.
Spacious and Stylish Apartments

Our twin apartment room exceeded our expectations. It was spacious and bright, thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows. The modern decor and comfortable furnishings created a cosy yet contemporary feel.
The apartment featured a fully-equipped kitchen, perfect for self-catering. We found a microwave, induction hob, kettle, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and all the crockery and cutlery we needed. A sliding door separated the kitchen from the bedroom, keeping cooking smells at bay and adding a layer of soundproofing.
The lounge area was thoughtfully designed, with a funky leather chair, a table/desk combo, dining chairs, a flat-screen TV, and a double bed with a large wardrobe, storing an ironing board, an iron, and a combination safe. The bathroom was equally impressive, with a walk-in shower, a storage mirror, and plenty of space.
Bed & Breakfast

Bed and breakfast rates are available at the hotel. The dining room is located on the first floor, but we opted to self-cater in our apartment to keep the costs down.
On-site Facilities
For the health-conscious travellers, there is an on-site gym/fitness room. Since our trip was focused on Christmas shopping, we chose not to visit the gym.
Perfect Location for Shopping and Exploring

The location couldn’t have been better. The Aparthotel is just a few minutes’ walk from the station and the Bullring Shopping Centre, which is home to fantastic shops and dining options. On this trip, we didn’t dine out, but the food hall looked tempting for a future visit.
With New Street Station and the Bullring nearby, the Aparthotel makes a convenient base for exploring the city center or tackling your shopping list.
Friendly Staff and Great Value
The staff we encountered throughout our stay were friendly, helpful, and professional. Every interaction left us with a positive impression, adding to the overall experience.
In terms of price, the Aparthotel was very competitive compared to other hotels in the area. Plus, I was able to use my Tesco Clubcard vouchers, making it even more affordable.
Why We’ll Be Back
Overall, our short stay at the Aparthotel Adagio Birmingham City Centre was fantastic. The combination of a great location, a comfortable and well-equipped apartment, and excellent service made it a memorable trip.
If you’re planning a stay in Birmingham, whether for shopping, business, or leisure, I’d highly recommend this serviced apartment. It’s a gem in the heart of the city, and we’ll definitely be back for another visit.
