Aside from family birthdays, holidays and Christmas, I think National Stationery Week is perhaps one of my favourite weeks of the year. Why? Because it’s all about stationery, of course!
I’m not too sure when my love for stationery began but I know for sure that I’m not the only one who has a slight obsession with all things pens, notebooks and the like.

Bullet Journalling
Earlier this year I decided to give bullet journalling a try, it was something I had tried previously but couldn’t get the grasp of, but now I’ve got it, and I’m wondering how I could have gone so wrong last time.
Whilst shopping in Flying Tiger a couple of months ago, I spotted the yellow Bullet Journal above and instantly loved it. Inside, it doesn’t have lines or squares, each page is covered in small dots, which feels more ‘free’ for creation. As you can see, I loved it so much that I went back and bought a couple more in different colours; these have been the turning point for my journaling.
Pens for every occasion
Stabilo has always been my pen brand of choice because they have a vast range of colours, tips and styles. To celebrate National Stationery Week, they gifted me this selection of pens to keep me creative on my bullet journaling journey.
I tend to use the Fineliners for my handwriting and the pastel highlighters and coloured felt tips for being a little more creative on the page.
Bullet journaling has helped me to become more focused in my work, calm in my everyday life and reflective, which in turn is helping me to grow.
Stamping and Washi Tape
Rubber stamps and washi tape are great ways to add interest to your bullet journals. I pick up stamps and washi tape wherever I go and have quite the collection now. I have been sent this selection from Hands On Workshop, a contemporary crafting shop online that delivers to Japan and Australia. They have a huge range of paper crafting products, fabric, and artisan crafts.
What are your favourite stationery products, and how do you use them?
Great post this. It’s hard to believe bullet journals continue to be as popular as they are but they just seem to fly off the shelves!
They are so popular now aren’t they, I love reading how people use them too.
I was obsessed with stationary as a child, I used to collect rubbers and spend all of my pocket money on pens and pencils. My Dad worked in an office and sometimes he used to bring the Stabilo highlighters home for us. I love a black fineliner and also the pastel Stabilo pens.
Ah I used to collect rubbers too, I still have a lot of my collection because my Grandad used to buy me them wherever he went on his travels 🙂
Bullet journalling is something that I like the idea of but too lazy to take part in but I do love stationery week as I grab loads of stationery for my work and business.
Haha I think that’s how I used to feel about it but I’ve totally embraced it now and wonder how I have managed so long without it.
Ive been debating a bullet journal for years now, they seem to be so popular! I love how artistic you can be in them!
Oh definitely give it a go Laura, I think you’ll love them as you’re a creative person.
I’ve never got into bullet journaling however I am a massive stationery fan. Now my daughter has developed a love for it too so everytime interest myself to something new I have to hide it before she claims it as hers!
Haha yes I know that feeling well, my daughter loves to snaffle away my new stationery hauls.
So much nice stuff. I always need good journals and notepads, as always scribbling away xx
I don’t think you can ever have too many journals xx
I would love to give bullet journalling a go, but I just don’t think I am artistic enough! I do have my own fair collection of washi tape and fancy pens though.
I don’t think it matters if you are artistic or not, my drawings aren’t great but I’m the only person who sees them so I figure it doesn’t matter 🙂
I love stationery too! Those bullet journals from Tiger are perfect! I’ve got to go and grab myself a yellow one 🙂
