- ‘Fit to Dance’ encourages creativity, imagination and exercise amongst families
- Children create stories and dance routines using inspiration from Disney On Ice shows
- Programme developed with EBC Education to support English and Physical Education skills
Disney On Ice launches it’s Fit To Dance’ family programme which aims to inspire families to have fun and be active through storytelling and dance, in the comfort of their own home and in the playground or garden!
Inspired by the wide range of Disney On Ice shows, featuring characters from much-loved films such as Disney’s Frozen, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Tangled and Disney? Pixar’s Cars and Toy Story – among others, ‘Fit to Dance’ encourages children to create their own dance sequences based on the on-ice choreography, with a little help from mum and dad of course.
Developed with EBC Education ‘Fit to Dance’ feeds children’s imagination and encourages imaginative storytelling. The programme also reflects the creative process used in Disney On Ice shows, where stories are developed by a writing team and then choreographed into spectacular dance routines.
Rebecca, a mum of three from Birmingham says, “I love the way English, Art and PE activities have been combined, making it a really great way for children to learn. My girls all loved the dance activities, particularly pretending to be a mermaid. My eight year old often struggles to think of ideas for stories so this is perfect for her! I think it is great for parents who want to provide fun activities for their kids. ”
Another mum Marianne from London added, “The programme is a fun and uniquely magical way to get the kids moving and learning. As a parent who is short of time, this is perfect as it’s relatively easy and gives some great family quality time together.”
Steven Armstrong, Europe North Vice President for Feld Entertainment which produces Disney On Ice, adds “Children love coming to see the magic of Disney On Ice shows, and especially love seeing characters such as Anna and Elsa from Disney’s Frozen live on ice. Families can now recreate this magic whilst developing storytelling skills and enhancing their children’s imagination through Fit to Dance.”
