In recent research conducted by personalised […]

Top 5 places I would love to travel to with my children

February 5, 2016 By: Sabina Green 1 Comments

The start of 2016 has left me feeling pretty flat if I’m honest, it just seems to have been one bad thing after another and I’m starting to lose faith with people in general so I’m turning my thoughts towards the future and to happier times, times of new adventures and wonder. As a family […]

One of the most well-received gifts that we ever give to family and friends at Christmas are the Photo Gifts from PhotoBox. I have been using PhotoBox since the Beans were babies to create Calendars, Diaries, Photobooks, Canvasses or just to order prints. The one year I ran out of time to get them ordered, […]

Photo mad wife and mummy of three+1, living the life I was meant to. Live the life you love, love the life you live!

Today is World Wildlife Day and if there is one th Today is World Wildlife Day and if there is one thing that we are looking forward to as a family when the lockdown is lifted, it's visiting some of our favourite zoos.
.
This photograph was taken at @twycrosszoo (this is not an ad), we have worked with Twycross in the past but even so, it still remains one of our favourite places to visit as a family.
.
Twycross is a member of the Species360 and has Conservation Breeding Programmes for the majority of their animals to ensure a future for species which are on the brink of extinction.
.
I took this photograph in Chimpanzee Eden a few years ago when Eden was first opened to the public. This particular Chimpanzee knocked on the glass to catch the attention of the man whose hand he is reaching out to. I said to the man "I think he likes you" and he said that he used to work with him so the chimp recognised him. Moments later another chimp ran across the enclosure to say hello too and my heart burst.
.
I have so many happy memories of that afternoon and others at Twycross with my family, We can't wait to head back there and see all the beautiful animals. They must wonder where everyone has gone.
.
My daughter Lillie sponsors a baby Mountain Gorilla which is a gift from her godfather, Apes have always been close to our heart. We support animal conservation as a family regularly.
.
What are you looking forward to as lockdown is eased?

HE DID IT! . Albie has always been frightened abou HE DID IT!
.
Albie has always been frightened about learning to ride his bike. We have tried persuading him every way we can but he wasn't having any of it.
.
Last Thursday I took Lillie and Ollie out for our first bike ride of the year and Albie was so upset that he couldn't come with us (it's OK we left him at home with Dad, he wasn't alone).
.
It turns out that was the push he needed because on Friday morning he asked if he could have his bike out at break time.
.
He squealed with delight as he cycled for long stretches without his stabilisers off the ground.
.
When he had finished his schoolwork I asked if he wanted to try taking his stabilisers off and he said yes.
.
We started him on grass first with me at the back and Lillie and Ollie on either side. He had great balance so we went onto the drive and he nailed it first time.
.
After that there was no stopping him, he has been on his bike all weekend and even for a ride out with me to see the horses.
.
I am so proud of him and so happy for him, he is over the moon with his efforts ❤️

.
As our children prepare to head back to school, do you worry about their loss of education? It's something that always bothers me during the Summer holidays so being away from school for the best part of a year has definitely got me worried.
.
Simon and I have tried our hardest to ensure that our children have stayed on top of their schoolwork but we are not teachers. I know that at times we have confused the issue more than we have taught.
.
On more than one occasion over the past year I have toyed with the idea of a private tutor to help Albie.
.
I was contacted by @tutorful.co.uk to see if we would like to review them. They provide online tutors who are fully qualified /retired or graduates in their final year. They offer lessons in all subjects for children from Primary, through Secondary School, University and even adult education.
.
Albie has had two lessons with a tutor I selected. You can read our full review on the blog today, we were so impressed we are looking to book more sessions for him in the future.
.
How do you feel about your child's loss of learning?

First bike ride of 2021!!! . It was such a beautif First bike ride of 2021!!!
.
It was such a beautiful afternoon as I sat in my office watching the Beans playing out on their bikes and scooters.
.
Simon was home today so I suggested I take Lillie and Ollie out for a bike ride. Cue excited squeals from Lillie and Ollie, followed by tears from Albie because he can't ride his bike without stabilisers which meant he couldn't come out with us.
.
Lillie and Ollie were very sweet and said they wouldn't go for a bike ride and instead chose to stay playing with Albie but after half an hour, he said it wasn't fair and they should go for a bike ride ❤️ (so proud of all of them).
.
We have tried so many times to get Albie to learn to ride his bike but he just won't have it. He is so frightened of falling off and hurting himself. We have tried getting him started on grass but he says the bike will land on top of him.
.
We really thought he would do it last year with the lockdown but nope. He just looks on with sad eyes as his big brother and sister head out on their bikes. I can't wait for the day that we manage a whole family bike ride 🚲
.
Back to this evening though, we had a lovely ride out but it turned cold very quickly and I swear I have never seen Lillie bike so fast to get back home 😆
.
The skies were beautiful and we even ran into my Mum coming home from work so she kindly took a quick pic of us all.
.
How did you get your little ones riding their bike? Any tips would be gratefully received 🙏

#ad-gifted . I love my family. I really do and I w #ad-gifted
.
I love my family. I really do and I would be lying if I said that I haven't enjoyed having them all at home with me again in Lockdown #3. We have had lots of fun times, lots of bonding over crafts, baking and games but of course, we have also had stressful days of homeschooling.
.
The announcement that they will return to school on 8th March did make me do a mini 'whoop whoop' because I am looking forward to working normal hours again instead of evenings and weekends.
.
Just like in September when they went back to school I will worry that they are safe but their schools did a great job then and I am sure they will do again. We are all ready for a little breathing space from each other and to see friends and loved ones again.
.
Am I worried about how quiet the house will be without them? NOPE.
.
Will I miss the mess they make all day, every day? NOPE.
.
Will I miss them all? Hmm yeah maybe a bit, for the first day perhaps but it's OK because I have a @coolpotsuk with their faces all over it just in case I might forget what they look like 😂
.
It's supposed to be a plant pot but we are being good and not going near the shops so for the time being it is my new pen pot on my desk. I will be able to look at it filled with my pens that the little blighters have 'borrowed' and not returned as I uncover them around the house in the mass tidy I plan to do in less than two weeks time!!!
.
The Cool Pots are just that, Cool Pots to house your plants (or pens), whatever you do don't mistake it for a mug because it's got a big hole in the bottom for drainage. You can choose from a wide range of colours and have one face all over or a selection of your favourite faces like I have. You can also have a short message on so they make great gifts for Mother's Day, Birthdays or any other special day.
.
Cool Pots cost £18.99

#Ad-gifted . The weather is a weird one isn't it? #Ad-gifted
.
The weather is a weird one isn't it? This photo was only taken a week ago when snow was still on the ground and my fingertips were so cold they actually hurt.
.
Fast forward a week and Spring is in the air and we were out scooting as a family yesterday without our coats on. Next week it will probably be snow again, or a heat wave...you never can tell in the UK!!
.
Anyway, aside from my freezing cold fingertips the rest of me was cosy and warm in my new Sunrise Iona coat from @lighthousestyle teamed up with my navy star hoodie from @livenboutique and my trusty Belle boots from @hottershoes.
.
Over on the blog today I have published my full review of the Iona coat and all the different colourways it comes in as well as the longer length Iona. They are on sale at the moment too so it's the perfect time to grab yourself a bargain.
.
It is padded but not heavily so its the ideal coat for a cool spring walk or to see you through Autumn and the start of Winter. It has a removable hood and is windproof, waterproof and breathable so you don't feel like you have been shrink wrapped!!
.
As for my hoodie, this is my second longline hoodie from Liven Boutique and it's fair to say that I am a little bit obsessed with them because they are sooooo snuggly and soft. They cover your bum nicely, have thumb holes in the sleeves and a big cowl neck hood. My other hoodie says Fierce, this time I wanted a star but there are lots of different options to choose from.
.
Well, it's back to homeschooling for us and the rest of the UK today so wish us luck and don't forget to check in later to see what pearls of wisdom Bojo has in store for us over the coming weeks xx
.
Happy Monday 😘
