Despite half (50%) of children aged between five and ten learning to code at school, only one in five (20%) parents know how to, making most parents ill-equipped to help their children with tech homework, according to a new coding report released today by consumer robotics and AI company, Anki, makers of the UK’s best-selling toy […]

Blowing away the cobwebs. . I worked yesterday mor Blowing away the cobwebs.
.
I worked yesterday morning whilst the kids played tech of varying descriptions. Then at lunchtime we packed up some lunch and drove over to @rutlandwater to meet Simon for his lunch break.
.
The sun was extremely deceptive because it was baltic!! Did we let that put us off? Of course not!
.
After Simon returned to work we went for a walk and found a little shaded area where we could skim stones out of the wind. It felt vaguely tropical, Albie even wanted to take his shoes off for a paddle but I didn't have a towel or change of clothes so it was a no from me.
.
At one point we were joined by ducks who assumed we had food. We didn't. All was going well until one over amorous duck decided to have his wicked way with Mrs Duck (and his friend tried to join in too!!). I can honestly say I have never seen ducks mating before but it was pretty brutal, he bites the back of her head and forces her head under water 💦 There's certainly no romance in nature 💔
.
Today is our last day just the four of us, Simon is home for his long birthday weekend so we are hoping for warm weather (I don't think it is forecast).

Meeting Harry 💙 . This is our rather scrumptiou Meeting Harry 💙
.
This is our rather scrumptious new nephew Harry who was born in November on his Nanny's birthday after a socially distanced family day out.
.
Thanks to Covid restrictions, we haven't been able to meet him until now but he was so worth the wait. What a gorgeous happy little chap he is.
.
The children played outside and loved catching up with their younger cousins. Lillie especially loves to see her younger cousins, she calls them her 'little girls' ❤️ ❤️

.
Yesterday we visited one of favourite places @burghleyhouse. The South Gardens are open too and this was our first opportunity to see them, they were beautiful.
.
I lost count of the number of times we pondered how many gardeners they must have to keep it all looking so pristine. They do an awesome job however many gardeners they have.

A day with my boys 💙💙 . The boys broke up fr A day with my boys 💙💙
.
The boys broke up from school yesterday, and an emotional day it was too as the school said goodbye to their headmaster who has been with the school for 13 years.
.
Yesterday morning I stood with a few other parents on a path near our school and watched as the whole school sang Take That's Never Forget to their headmaster. It was an emotional sight for sure.
.
This morning a slightly disgruntled Lillie head off to school (it's normally a girl's day because she usually breaks up from school before the boys). The boys made the most of a lazy morning whilst I completed some work.
.
At their request we went to @burghleyhouse with the scooters where we had lots of fun together, we took lots of photos and laughed loads.
.
After a quick pit stop at @mcdonaldsuk for lunch we went home to watch @disneyraya which we highly recommend. This is not an ad, we paid for it ourselves. We loved it!!
.
Both boys gave me big hugs this evening telling me they'd had the best day. Happy boys, that's what it's all about 💙💙

#Ad . Easter preparations have begun thanks to @pa #Ad
.
Easter preparations have begun thanks to @pantry_house 🐥
.
I started baking with the Beans from when they were very young, it's such a lovely activity to do with children and it reminded me so much of my own childhood.
.
I was asked by Pantry House if we would like to select a few items to try out. They all looked so good it was a really tough decision but in the end we chose the Katie Bakes Gingerbread Man Easter Baking kit, Gwynedd Spring Daffodils Belgian Chocolate and Infinity Brands Easter Egg Design Drawstring Bag Milk Chocolate Eggs which are sooooo gooood 😋
.
PanttyHouse have a huge range of foodie gifts and products for all times of the year, I have also been checking out their BBQ range because I am feeling hopeful 😉
.
The Gingerbread Man kit went down a storm, it contained everything needed to make LOADS of Gingerbread men with a slightly puffed up chewy texture, the Beans have nearly demolished them already so I guess we won't be having them for Easter!!
.
They also sent me two jars of Mrs Darlington Extra Jam Raspberry Jam which I shared with my lovely friends who were delighted with their gifts ❤️
.
How will you prepare for Easter weekend? Will you be baking too?
