The Mum in me who wants to bury her head in the sand and not think about my children using mobile phones is pretending that I am not writing this post. The Mum with the sensible head on knows that it is only a matter of time before my Beans will be getting their own smartphones.
On the one hand smartphones are brilliant, they enable parents to keep in touch with children who don’t arrive home when expected or if they need to be contacted in an emergency. Some children will only have standard mobile phones to be used for texts and phonecalls but many will have smartphones which have access to the internet and this is where the dangers lie.
