Disclaimer: We received the Gift Basket below but would have happily shared this post without it as Smile Train is a charity very close to our family’s heart.
Set a note in your diaries for the Smile Train Virtual Carol Concert tomorrow evening, Thursday 9th December 2021. This hour-long Christmas Carol Concert will be filmed in the Grosvenor Chapel in Mayfair (as featured in my favourite Christmas film Love Actually). You will need to register online before the event.
Smile Train Virtual Carol Concert
Commencing at 8 pm, people across the UK are invited to tune in for free via the Smile Train website for this very special performance by Smile Train’s patient choirs in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile and Nigeria all of whom have benefited from the charity’s cleft care.
As well as beautiful carols you will be able to hear inspiring stories from the charity’s Ambassadors, a seasonal welcome from the Smile Train UK Director, Ian Vallance and a regional update from the Smile Train programme in the Philippines as well as how they have approached the pandemic.
Free to Watch – Donations Welcome
Whilst the carol concert is free to watch and will be most heart-warming, viewers are invited to make an online donation to help the charity continue to provide free cleft surgery and comprehensive cleft care to children globally.
Help Raise Awareness
Turn on the Christmas lights, make yourselves comfy with a hot chocolate, a biscuit (or two) and if you tune in please share a photo of you and your loved ones on social media with the hashtag #SmileTrainCarolsConcert to help raise awareness and get as many people as possible tuning in.
Roanne Moore, Carol Concert Curator and Development Manager at Smile Train UK says:
“After the success of last years’ first virtual Christmas carols concert, and the continued uncertainty around the pandemic, we’ve decided to again digitally-adapt this years’ annual celebration.
“We’re so excited to kick off the festive season and put a smile on people’s faces after another turbulent year. So, dust off your Santa hat, grab your nearest and dearest and gather round to sing-along to your favourite carols and help spread Christmas cheer.”
The Smile Train Christmas carols concert will be taking place on 9th December 2021, 8pm.
