On Friday 13th January, my Mum and I boarded a bus at Little Bean’s school bound for Sheffield. At the start of this school year Little Bean asked if she could start doing Vocal lessons and join the school choir, it was something she has been wanting to do for a long time but I […]

School is a learning curve for parents too Having children at school has been quite a steep learning curve. It starts with the simple things like counting from 1-20 and days of the week, but even things as simple as learning their A, B, C’s is very different to when we learnt at school. These […]

August 8, 2016 By: Sabina Green 1 Comments

Allegedly the best years of your life, school can often equate to the most stressful years of a parent’s existence, particularly when it comes to those first precious years spent establishing a sense of self and an academic routine. The chances are you’ve thought about your child’s education more than once since they were born, […]

    Little Bean’s First School Residential

July 24, 2016 By: Sabina Green 2 Comments

I knew it had to happen one day, the school residential trip, but that didn’t mean to say that I was ready for it. When the Beans started school and went on their first school trips in the local area I didn’t bat an eyelid, after all they were only up the road if anything […]

Photo mad wife and mummy of three+1, living the life I was meant to. Live the life you love, love the life you live!

#ad-gifted . I love my family. I really do and I w #ad-gifted
.
I love my family. I really do and I would be lying if I said that I haven't enjoyed having them all at home with me again in Lockdown #3. We have had lots of fun times, lots of bonding over crafts, baking and games but of course, we have also had stressful days of homeschooling.
.
The announcement that they will return to school on 8th March did make me do a mini 'whoop whoop' because I am looking forward to working normal hours again instead of evenings and weekends.
.
Just like in September when they went back to school I will worry that they are safe but their schools did a great job then and I am sure they will do again. We are all ready for a little breathing space from each other and to see friends and loved ones again.
.
Am I worried about how quiet the house will be without them? NOPE.
.
Will I miss the mess they make all day, every day? NOPE.
.
Will I miss them all? Hmm yeah maybe a bit, for the first day perhaps but it's OK because I have a @coolpotsuk with their faces all over it just in case I might forget what they look like 😂
.
It's supposed to be a plant pot but we are being good and not going near the shops so for the time being it is my new pen pot on my desk. I will be able to look at it filled with my pens that the little blighters have 'borrowed' and not returned as I uncover them around the house in the mass tidy I plan to do in less than two weeks time!!!
.
The Cool Pots are just that, Cool Pots to house your plants (or pens), whatever you do don't mistake it for a mug because it's got a big hole in the bottom for drainage. You can choose from a wide range of colours and have one face all over or a selection of your favourite faces like I have. You can also have a short message on so they make great gifts for Mother's Day, Birthdays or any other special day.
.
Cool Pots cost £18.99

#Ad-gifted . The weather is a weird one isn't it? #Ad-gifted
.
The weather is a weird one isn't it? This photo was only taken a week ago when snow was still on the ground and my fingertips were so cold they actually hurt.
.
Fast forward a week and Spring is in the air and we were out scooting as a family yesterday without our coats on. Next week it will probably be snow again, or a heat wave...you never can tell in the UK!!
.
Anyway, aside from my freezing cold fingertips the rest of me was cosy and warm in my new Sunrise Iona coat from @lighthousestyle teamed up with my navy star hoodie from @livenboutique and my trusty Belle boots from @hottershoes.
.
Over on the blog today I have published my full review of the Iona coat and all the different colourways it comes in as well as the longer length Iona. They are on sale at the moment too so it's the perfect time to grab yourself a bargain.
.
It is padded but not heavily so its the ideal coat for a cool spring walk or to see you through Autumn and the start of Winter. It has a removable hood and is windproof, waterproof and breathable so you don't feel like you have been shrink wrapped!!
.
As for my hoodie, this is my second longline hoodie from Liven Boutique and it's fair to say that I am a little bit obsessed with them because they are sooooo snuggly and soft. They cover your bum nicely, have thumb holes in the sleeves and a big cowl neck hood. My other hoodie says Fierce, this time I wanted a star but there are lots of different options to choose from.
.
Well, it's back to homeschooling for us and the rest of the UK today so wish us luck and don't forget to check in later to see what pearls of wisdom Bojo has in store for us over the coming weeks xx
.
Happy Monday 😘

Yesterday morning the Beans took part in another #SkyVIP experience (free... this is not an ad). They have been doing some really good workshops for kids which has been brilliant during lockdown.
.
Yesterday they did a workshop on creating Morph and loved it. Lillie's Morph had a bit of an accident so she gave him a plaster on his knee.
.
Have you taken part in any of the Sky VIP workshops?

Home Arcade Games . Yesterday's half term plans we Home Arcade Games
.
Yesterday's half term plans were all about healthy competition and family fun.
.
Simon had the day off work and between us we planned games around the house where we could all score points to declare an overall winner.
.
This was such good fun and everyone enjoyed it. We all laughed loads, cheered each other on and congratulated Lillie, the WINNER!!
.
Games included: table pong with scores written on pieces of paper in each cup, higher and lower with a pack of playing cards (I scored the highest with 15 in one round!!), Hover Shot with scores written on each ball according to which ones are the most difficult to hit, Bean Bag toss and finally Tin Can Alley (or in our case upside down popcorn cups stacked).
.
We played three rounds of each game and then added up all the scores. Overall our little competition took just over two hours 😊

Home Movie Day . Yesterday for our half term plans Home Movie Day
.
Yesterday for our half term plans we had a lovely afternoon chilling in the lounge for a home movie experience.
.
I created Cinema Tickets for the Beans to come and watch one of my all-time favourites, BIG with Tom Hanks. I made them a movie snack pot filled with popcorn and sweets, closed the curtains and blinds in the lounge and settled down for the afternoon.
.
I am delighted to say they all loved it as much as me, although the boys got a little bashful at the romantic scenes 😆
.
Later on when Dad came home we ordered in pizza and took part in the #SkyVIP Big Harry Potter Quiz online.
.
It was free to join in and included with our Sky package. There were nearly 23,000 households taking part and lots of prizes to be won.
.
We finished in a pretty respectable 10,288 position which we were happy with. Mind you we have all watched all the films, read the books and been to @wbstudiotourlondon many times so we are definitely big fans.
.
It's hard to believe it's almost the weekend again and nearly time to head back to home school though hopefully this is the home stretch before returning to school 🤞

The Great Bean's Bake-off 2021 . Yesterday afterno The Great Bean's Bake-off 2021
.
Yesterday afternoon the kitchen was a hive of activity with the family bake-off in session.
.
Over the years I have done lots of baking with all of the children and they love it. When I suggested a family bake-off, they were very excited.
.
Ordinarily in a bake-off, everyone would bake the same things but it's our kitchen, our competition, our rules so I let them each choose what they wanted to bake because they all have very different tastes when it comes to eating sweet treats, luckily for me (or possibly not for my hips)I like them all 😜
.
I printed them all off recipes and bought all the ingredients which I measured for them to save time and then I left them to it. They each worked their way through the instructions and created their masterpieces.
.
Albie was a whizz at rubbing his butter and flour together for his gingerbread men, Lillie opted for green food colouring to make her Victoria sponge marbled, Will went for a triple chocolate cake and Ollie's brownie is the perfect combination of gooey inside and crunchy topping.
.
I think perhaps today should be a 5 mile walk to burn off the extra calories 🤔😅😬
