We had a late start to our day today, yesterday ended on a tetchy note with the tiddlers since they were extremely overtired from missing out on their daytime naps so today I decided to stay at home and have a quite day for them to recharge their batteries. Whilst they chilled out with a new DVD I got on with the cleaning.
After their sleeps we popped into Peterborough for a second visit of the week to Ferry Meadows but this time we did a loop of the sports lake instead. The tiddlers enjoyed throwing stones into the water and looking out for fish before trying their hand at rockets which I taught them back in the Spring.
Little Bean’s confidence on her Micro-scooter is now shining through, today she was trying to ride it like a skateboard, I think I could end up with a skatergirl on my hands. On the way around the lake the tiddlers spotted this trail in the sky. Beanie Boy quite rightly said it was from an airplane but Little Bean with great imagination aid she thought it looked like a flying tractor had been driving across the sky. She’s right, it does look like that.
I have been visiting Ferry Meadows since I was a child, it looks different through every season and it’s great for the children to see the changing views, the animals and getting outdoors in the fresh air.
What great places do you take your children for some outdoor fun?
