Are you looking for a getaway that will literally take your breath away? There are so many things to do in Gran Canaria that you’re certain to love. It’s time to get out and explore the world and see it in a whole new way!
The best part about booking a trip to Gran Canaria is that there are activities and things to do for all ages. You can easily book a day trip, weekend trip, or even longer and still never run out of things to do. If you’re looking for an adventure that you’re not going to forget, planning a visit to Gran Canaria is one of the top locations that needs to be on your travel bucket list.
Best things to do in Gran Canaria
One of the best ways to plan an awesome getaway is to check out the villas in Gran Canaria. Where else can you have a luxury stay for a super affordable price? There are many different styles and options for lodging to fit all types of groups. From singles to families to even a fun girls’ getaway weekend!
Check out all the hiking trails
Don’t forget that the scenery in Gran Canaria is stunning. If you’re looking for wonderful hiking trails, you can’t go wrong here. So pack your hiking backpack and get ready to take a true adventure on foot. Some of the best trails have the most stunning views.
And if you’re feeling up for a true adventure, you can check out the “sacred” hiking route (also called the Camino de Santiago de Gran Canaria) for a wonderful story to tell others later on down the road.
Get in the water
If you love to be in the water, this is the place to make it happen. The islands have prime surging and bodyboarding options that will have you riding those Atlantic waves. There’s a reason why the Bodyboard World Championship holds its finals in Gran Canaria every year!
Eat the local eats
Calling all foodies! The local Canarian food options are so good. Of course, you have to try the red mojo picón with wrinkled potatoes because that dish is one that just so happens to be popular and also amazing. You also need to be certain to pour yourself a cup of the Agaete coffee, which is one of the best coffees in the world.
Lay out on the beach
Who says that you have to jam-pack your calendar full of anything while visiting? Instead, you can easily choose to spend your time lounging on the beaches. With Maspalomas, Las Canteras, and Sardina del Norte beaches to choose from, you can bounce around and soak up the sun on them all.
Go shopping
Everyone loves shopping here, and the local stores are great. You’ll find a ton of handmade quality items that are at an affordable price. In addition, the tax rate in the Canary Islands is very low, which makes your vacation dollars stretch even further.
Why not pick up some souvenirs for all your loved ones back home that couldn’t be with you on the trip? They’ll love that you thought of them!
As you can see, there are so many fun things to do in Gran Canaria. If you play your cards right, you can literally do all of the items listed above during your entire trip and stay. Engaging in adventures and outdoor activities and mingling with enjoyable ways to relax makes Gran Canaria the perfect place to plan your next vacation getaway.
Don’t delay – the time is now to get out and about and have so much fun!
