What to wear on Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day will be here before you know it. Some couples will be celebrating their first Valentine’s Day together, others might be old hands at it. Thinking back through our years together, Hubby and I have had some pretty romantic Valentine’s Day celebrations, some planned ones that I knew about, others were surprises.

Date night dilemmas

If you are heading out on a date this Valentine’s Day and you know where your date is taking you then choosing the right outfit shouldn’t be too difficult but what if your date wants to surprise you? Do you wear a mini-dress only to find out that you’re going bowling and will be showing off your a little more than your pins when you bend down? What if you decide to dress casually in smart jeans and a blouse and then you get treated to a top-notch restaurant??

Have no fear, I have a few ideas up my sleeve which will keep you looking your best whatever the dress code!

Rock Chic Rose

This is a flirty feminine look for the non-girly girl and would make the ideal outfit for a casual dinner date, a drink in a bar or watching your favourite band. The ruffled bottom adds just the right amount of feminine frills, whilst the boots keep the look edgy and a little less ‘tea party’. Finish off the outfit with a slick of red lipstick to pack a punch and show you mean business whilst Versace Jean’s bags like this gorgeous mock croc backpack can carry the essentials to keep you looking your best – don’t forget to pop in a casual jacket or chunky scarf for when the evening turns cool.

Bold with Blush

If you are heading to a top restaurant or lucky enough to have a date at the theatre then this is sure to get your date’s attention. A demure but bold ensemble complete with blush accessories, the Dune High Heels from Dorothy Perkins is the ideal showcase for a slender ankle.

Top to Toe Red

This outfit is perfect for the surprise date when you don’t know where you’re going. Whether you’re heading out for a meal, to the bowling alley, a date at the cinema or a drink in a bar, this top-to-toe red will ensure your date can’t take their eyes off you this Valentine’s Day. I love this black top with the ruffle neck which reminds me of an old favourite from River Island and a warm jacket because it can still be a little on the chilly side in February.
