Mummies have it rough when they have recently brought a newborn into this world. And if you are a working mum then you may have it even tougher. Having a little human being to take care of full time, few things have to be put on the side to make way for the baby’s needs. For these mums the struggle is real and the act of letting go of things they can’t afford to lend their attention to is automatically set on default. While this may seem like an easy option to choose, but in the case of neglecting skincare, it is not a wise option.
No-Nonsense Skin Care Routine For Mums
While sometimes anything else outside of brushing your teeth may come off as extravagant, but you really should not be neglecting your skin. I am saying this because once you do get skin problems that arise due to neglected care then they take time and effort to fully heal. Although not impossible but they are tricky to treat. So, I am going to be sharing here a fuss-free and no-nonsense “how to have a glow up” routine for mums to follow that will help keep their skin in prime condition.
Morning and Night
Let’s start with the essential steps you need to do when getting up in the morning and before getting into bed. In the morning, cleanse your skin with a gentle cleanser to get rid of the sebum (the oiliness) from the skin, and to rid the skin of dirt. After washing you need to apply a moisturizer suitable for your skin type, if you have an oily skin type then you can opt for a light-weight and oil-free moisturizer.
Sun Protection
Lastly, if work or any other task demands you to step out of the house then you should apply a nice layer of sunscreen as well, no matter if it’s cloudy out there, you have to apply a sunscreen with minimum SPF 30. At bedtime, cleanse your face with a gentle cleanser, use a toner (rose water works wonders and you can spritz it on the face very easily), and then finish it off by applying moisturizer and catching up on sleep.
Sleep
Remember a well-rested body shines from the inside out so you have to make sure you are getting enough sleep. This can be tricky sometimes, but what you can do is, you can take naps when the baby is sleeping if you think you can’t sleep well enough in one go.
You don’t have to follow a 12-step skincare routine to get the glow. There’s absolutely no need to horde expensive skincare products as well that demand plenty of time off from the schedule, just be consistent with the above-mentioned steps and rely less on expensive chemicals that promise instant and miraculous skin healing action and you will do just fine. Because sometimes skincare products contain chemicals that can prove to be very harsh for the skin and end up creating more issues.
