FAMILIES can expect fun, farmyard favourites and food this Easter holiday when Countryside Lincs returns to the Lincolnshire Showground on Sunday 14 April.
The all-weather event is a great day out for the whole family, so what can you expect to see and do on the day?
When is Countryside Lincs and where is it?
Countryside Lincs is at the Lincolnshire Showground, Grange-de-Lings, Lincoln, LN2 2NA, on Sunday 14 April from 10 am – 4 pm.
What is it?
Countryside Lincs is a fun-filled and interactive day all about food, farming and the countryside. Meet producers, crafters, farmers and lots of animals all in one place to inspire young minds all about Lincolnshire’s heritage.
With eight different indoor and outdoor zones across the site, there’s something for everyone; including hands-on creative activities, sports activities and cooking experiences. There’s also a chance for the young and the young at heart to get up-close and personal with farmyard animals big and small and even take a ride around the Showground on a big tractor trailer.
There will also be a packed main ring timetable of entertainment, from the Sheep Roadshow to bird of prey displays.
What’s new for 2019?
This year Countryside Lincs will have a Sports Zone for the first time. Attendees can take part in All Stars Cricket taster sessions, led by Lincolnshire Cricket, while thrill-seekers are invited to try out the Action Wheels adventure bike course. There’s also the opportunity to have a go at human table football or sit back and watch the amazing Stunt Trial Bike Show.
How much are Countryside Lincs tickets?
Advanced tickets are priced at just £18 for a family or four, £7 for adults, £4 for children and under 5s are free. You’ll also be able to buy tickets on the gate.
Is there a cash point on site?
There are no cash points on site. Some exhibitors will offer card payments, however, it is advisable to bring cash to the event.
Can I bring a picnic?
Yes! There is a dedicated picnic area for families, as well as a host of hot and cold food stalls from local and well-known producers.
What about my dog?
Dogs are welcome to come along in the outdoor zones, however, they must be kept on a fixed, short lead at all times. Unfortunately, dogs will not be allowed into the Farmyard Zone, Food Zone, Explore-It zone and Make-It Zone (buildings), except for assistance dogs.
Is Countryside Lincs suitable for people with mobility issues?
Yes, the Showground has a lot of hard standing and tarmac roads to facilitate access. There are disabled toilet facilities on-site, including adult-sized changing bench and hoist.
Countryside Lincs is organised by the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society, which celebrates its 150th anniversary this year. The Society aims to educate the next generation about the importance of agriculture, farming and food.
