Lillie - this is the little beauty who made me a M Lillie - this is the little beauty who made me a Mummy way back in 2008.  It's hard to believe that she turns 13 this year, I'm not sure I'm ready for a teenage daughter!!
.
Today on the blog I have turned back the clock and am talking about about the essentials you need to consider when you have or are expecting a newborn. Despite the nearly 13 years I still remember it all like it was yesterday and love nothing better than to scroll through the thousands of photos we have taken over the years.
.
I have friends who are expecting babies at the moment (I also have a gorgeous new nephew who I am still yet to meet thanks to Covid) and I would be lying if I said that it doesn't still make me broody.  I love newborn cuddles and the toddler years but if I am honest, I love all the years because they all bring something new.
.
If you're expecting or know someone who is then pop over and check the post out, it might just give you a pearl of wisdom that you hadn't already considered.

A snow day for my Beans!! . The last few times we A snow day for my Beans!!
.
The last few times we have had snow the children have all been at school and the snow has disappeared before they got a chance to play.
.
Today the snow came just as they were finishing their homeschooling so now they are outside making the most it and having a blast.
.
I had to pop out to get my flu jab and couldn't resist a quick photo walk whilst I was out of the house.
.
This beautiful thatched cottage had its roof replaced before Christmas and looked so pretty today in the snow. If you look carefully you might just be able to make out the 🦊 (obviously not a real one) on the roof ♥
.
It really looks like it has been sprinkled with icing sugar doesn't it?
.
Only one more day until the weekend and that will mean we are two weeks down with homeschooling. We can do this 🤗

The homeschooling roller-coaster continues... . Fi The homeschooling roller-coaster continues...
.
Firstly let me say that I am one of the lucky ones, my husband works from home two days a week to help me with homeschooling. I didn't even have to ask him.
.
That doesn't mean he find it easy by any stretch of the imagination as he is essentially working from home too and doing accounts with children is a challenge.
.
We both try to work in the evenings to free up some time (and patience) for the daytime.
.
Lillie is now on live lessons for most of her classes which is much better and Ollie is pretty self sufficient, although he did have a few wobbles yesterday.
.
Albie, at nearly 8, is understandably the one who needs most of our help and that can be a mixed bag depending on which side of the bed he woke up on.
.
Yesterday he woke up on the procrastination side, today he was very much on the positive mental attitude side and has nailed his homeschooling.
.
This afternoon he has Spanish and luckily Lillie is a bit of a pro at it so she is helping him with that and then we are done for the day.
.
If I could give one piece of advice for homeschool it would be to pick your battles. If they have reached a point where they are stressed out, stop and take a break because the brain doesn't function well for learning when stressed. We set a timer for 10 mins to go away, clear their head and then try again. It doesn't work every time but most times it helps.
.
Good luck xx

Well that was the weekend I guess. The thing with Well that was the weekend I guess. The thing with this slower pace of life that I love is that the weekends seem to last forever.
.
We went out for two lovely long walks over the weekend, for once I didn't work unless you count a bit of housework.
.
It's very muddy at the moment so we can't do most of our favourite walks and instead have to stick to the roads but there are still beautiful places to walk.
.
I groomed both of the digs because they were looking like Chewbacca and soaked up mud and water like they were storing it for winter. I will definitely never make it as a professional groomer (and wouldn't want to) but they will do for now.
.
We took Dobby to the pet shop this weekend and bought him a head collar because he is really hard to walk, he pulls constantly. The head collar is like a miracle worker, he has been a dream to walk this weekend which made all the difference ti my stress levels. Now to work on his recall and he might be allowed off the lead again in the future!!
.
Today it's back to homeschooling for week 2. How does everyone feel about it this week? We are starting day one with a positive mindset, it's officially week 1 for Lillie so fingers crossed 🤞
.
Hope you all have a good week ♥

This boy 💙 . Homeschooling Ollie is a breeze, h This boy 💙
.
Homeschooling Ollie is a breeze, he just gets on with it and rarely needs any help. When he can, he will help his younger brother Albie and if he senses any tension he tries his best to dissolve it. That said, he is also the biggest wind-up merchant and causes a fair few arguments.
.
This week during Homeschooling he was asked to write a Hyperbole poem:
.
Lockdown
.
The whole country is back in lockdown
Homeschooling parents wear a frown
The dogs are confused that it's walkies again
When the clock says its only half past ten
Kids think it's an excuse to eat more food
Whilst their baby brother runs around in the nude
The teachers talk to the kids on zoom
As Mum drinks Baileys in the next room
Hoping it will help to get through the day
One too many and she'll start to sway
No sign yet of #PEwithJoe
So it's Yoga on YouTube let's go with the flow
Another accident for Ollie, it's always the way
I wonder what nickname Mr Bell will give me today?
.
I absolutely love it and it did make me laugh. His teacher thought the bit about me drinking Baileys was hilarious.
.
This morning, Ollie had a zoom session with his class and they ended with a game of Scavenger Hunt. All was going well until they were asked to find something that Mum loves...Ollie says, "I would bring Mum's gin but iI can't reach it" 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️
.
So now Ollie's teacher is getting the impression that I might have a drinking problem 🙄😳🤣
.
I would like to state for the record that I am perfectly fine and I definitely do not have a drinking problem 🥴 hic 🥴

Homeschool Day 2 has been a mixed bag, it started Homeschool Day 2 has been a mixed bag, it started well (for about half an hour) and then went a bit off kilter.
.
After a little break, we managed ti get back on track and be finished by 1pm for a late lunch.
.
The sun was shining brightly so we decided to head out for a walk around the town.
.
We suddenly realised that the rain clouds had begun to follow us so we picked up our pace. We had lots of giggles, played a few games AND made it back home before the rain!
.
We shall call that a winner I reckon!!
.
How was your day? Are you homeschooling yet? My one tip would be to pick your battles and take a break when it starts to feel too much ♥
