Never in a million years did I think that I would be resorting to ‘Regenerating Body Care’ before I reached my 40th birthday but yet here I am three pregnancies down the line, hating my body and still with another two and a bit years to go before the big 4-0!
Before children I took care of my body, I used to love going to the gym and I would smother myself in the latest creams to keep my skin hydrated and fresh. Throughout my pregnancy with Little Bean I used body oils and creams morning and night in a bid to keep stretch marks at bay. At 40 weeks I thought I had achieved it but those last 10 days when she was overdue proved to be the tipping point as the stretch marks came. I have read all the lines about how I should be proud of my stretch marks, they are the sign of my passage to motherhood blah blah blah but I don’t, I hate them. With my following two pregnancies I am pleased to say that I didn’t get further stretchmarks but my skin doesn’t feel the way it did. It has lost it’s elasticity and feels somewhat like crepe paper and as my weight is slowly coming off, my skin shows the signs of being stretched to within an inch of its life.
For the past three weeks I have been using Pomegranate Regenerating Body Cream by Weleda which is their most powerful beauty range proven to help prevent the visible signs of ageing. It contains 100% organic pomegranate seed oil combined with pure natural plant extracts to promote skin renewal and firmness, enhancing natural vitality and protecting skin from free radical damage.
It smells divine, Hubby and the tiddlers always compliment me on how lovely I smell since I have been using it (though hopefully I didn’t smell that bad before???). The first time I realised it was making a difference to my skin was when showering, I could physically feel the difference in my skin texture. It felt beautifully soft and smooth and with each use I am slowly seeing an improvement in it’s appearance too. Don’t get me wrong, I know the Stretch Marks are here to stay and over time they are/have faded but the rest of my skin feels firmer and less ‘old’. So who knows, perhaps my bikini days aren’t over just yet?
