As the winter months settle in it can be easy as a stay-at-home Mum to get stuck into a rut of shooting home after the school run and locking ourselves away in the warmth of home for the day but this week when we ran out of Beanie Boy’s favourite biscuits I stopped in my tracks. I was just about to say, “let’s hop in the car to Tesco” but then I decided instead that since the sun was shining we could make more of an adventure of it by walking (with Beanie Boy on his scooter) to the parade of shops just down the road from our house. Beanie Boy thought this was an excellent idea, so we all wrapped up warm in our coats, hats and gloves and set off on our way.
We live quite near to a busy main road which I am always nervous about walking along with the tiddlers but Beanie Boy was very sensible on his scooter and didn’t venture too far ahead of me and if the traffic got too busy he would either stop and wait for me or pick up his scooter and walk until the traffic calmed down again. The whole walk probably took us around an hour but it was thoroughly enjoyable and Jelly Bean was snuggled up so nicely he even managed to have his morning nap whilst we were out.
This post has been written to link up with #CountryKids it’s good to get the children out and about so why not head over and see what everyone else has been up to this week.
I felt better for a bit of fresh air today too.
In between the rain we have had some wonderful sunny autumnal days, and what better way to appreciate them then to get outdoors. Great exercise and a mini adventure for the children – what’s not to like. Thanks for linking up and sharing with Country Kids.
Love the shadows of a clear, sunny, Winter’s morning. They both look very happy!
Nipping over from Country Kids.
