How to dress chic every day for your office?

Get up,Get dressed, Run to work, Repeat the next day.

Being an adult is tough, especially when you are working five days a week. After the excitement of your new job warns out, monotony starts kicking in!  Getting ready for it every day becomes tedious, and with time, many of us begin to be less and less bothered about it.

Dress Chic

It all seems like too much effort

However, being indifferent towards your dressing is never a good idea. There are a plethora of other considerations, like, your first impression or being dressed professionally or looking classy, elegant, and confident at work.

Professionals nowadays think that casually dressing for work is okay in almost every kind of setting. However, it is not the case. Appearance and your outlook are more important than you think, especially in a corporate environment. It is something to ponder about seriously.

“The problem with appearance is that it translates to performance,” said Nicole Williams, a career expert on LinkedIn. He added, “Even if your boss doesn’t seem that they are thinking any less of you, they will subconsciously think it.”

Everyone wants to excel in their career and want to achieve their career milestones. We all yearn to climb up the professional ladder.

As a young professional, you need to dress the part to advance your career and impress everyone, including your boss. We all want to be favoured by the boss, don’t we?

This article addresses the ways you can use to look super stunning by dressing chic every day at the workplace.

1. Replace your regular blouses with a patterned one

It’s time to get rid of your boring regular blouses and get yourself some cool patterned one. Adding a feminine blouse with an artistic pattern does wonders in transforming your overall outfit for good.

The patterned blouses are made to elevate the outfit and add stars of style. It is one of the super quick hacks you can apply if you want to shift from boring to stylish.

Other things in your look appear very natural, as it will allow your blouse to be the focus of your outlook. Style the patterned top with cigarette pants or a neutral pencil skirt. Also, when it comes to accessorizing at the workplace, less is more, always!

However, this does not mean, ‘saying no to jewellery!’ A beautiful watch and a dainty necklace are all you need to add the extra oomph to your look. What’s far better than a piece of personalized jewellery to add your own sense of style to your look.

The handbag you carry for the office should not look too oversized. If you’re among those who carry the same bag every day, then a square beige purse will surely add to your class.

Don’t ever go light on accessories. Some recommended office accessories that should be a part of all your outfits are: a watch, a necklace, earrings, scarf, and a bracelet.

2. Wear a pop of colour

Black, White, and Gray. That’s it!

People who work in corporate offices tend to stack their wardrobe with outfits of only three colours. Boring! It’s always charming to add freshness to your dressing.

For instance, if you are wearing a black and grey dress, you can wear a red scarf to brighten up the overall look. A black suit with a colourful blouse will also add dimension and life to your attire.

Everyone likes a subtle mix of colours. It not only looks fashionable but also proves to be a great conversation starter. We all would go up and talk to someone who is looking pristine. Don’t we?

Most people in the office don’t consider adding colour to their dresses, so they’re always amazed when someone does that. A pop of colour will surely help you stand out amongst your coworkers.

3. Make an effort to wear heels

Work shoes

You need to hear me out on this one. A high heel for the workplace doesn’t imply that you have to wear a pump. What my suggestions for you are to choose from a kitten heel, a block heel, or a heeled ankle boot.

Your local shoe store must have racks full of these shoes. Take out the ones you’re most comfortable in and slay!

One reason to favour heels instead of flat shoes is that ‘a heel gives off a nice and a more polished look.’ You will feel a positive change in the way you carry yourself, as heels are widely known to boost a woman’s confidence.

After all, who doesn’t want to feel more confident and productive at the office?

4. Style Your Hair

As much as this tip sounds implied and redundant, many women don’t take the time out to style their hair for work. They just roll them in a messy bunch or come to the office with their hair pulled back in a messy ponytail.

So, if you are bad at styling your hair, get help from a hairdresser. The Internet can be your friends if you need some quick tips or tutorials for classy hairdos.

Do whatever it takes you to sort out what’s going on top of your head. Let’s not forget, appearance at the workplace is everything, and hairstyling is an unavoidable part of presenting a professional corporate look.

5. Replace your cardigans with blazers

Dress Chic

Though I love an ethical oversized cardigan in some beautiful colours, cardigans generally do not have their place at the workplace. They seem slouchy and are too relaxed for the office environment.

Some cardigans can even look outdated and unflattering.

So, stick to what is best for the corporate world: blazers. If you possess a trendy soul, then a long, fitted blazer can be a good fit for you. If not, then a classic tailored blazer will do the job for you.

All you have to do is to make sure your blazer is tailored correctly at the waist with shoulders not too broad, and sleeves not be too long.

A nice blazer that doesn’t fit someone or too loose to give a classy look is akin to disaster in fashion.

6. Get your clothes tailored

Wearing loose and baggy outfit to the office that doesn’t fit you perfectly, raises some serious questions about your professionalism.

If you have lost weight and your pants no longer fit you, get them altered. It is imperative to wear the attire that flatters your body seamlessly. Trust me on this. Every extra dime you spend on tailoring is worth it.

In case you want to wear loose clothing, don’t compromise on style. You can go for some women’s country clothing designed with style. They come in loose-fitting and also complement your posture.
