If, like me, you can’t resist a good Halloween film, then this is one event you’ll want to add to your autumn calendar.
This October, Disney fans will have the chance to experience Hocus Pocus in a whole new way as Disney’s Hocus Pocus in Concert arrives at Eventim Apollo for a special Halloween matinee performance on Sunday 25 October 2026.
Instead of simply watching the much-loved classic on screen, audiences will enjoy the film accompanied by a live orchestra performing the unforgettable score in real time. It’s an immersive experience that combines the magic of cinema with the excitement of live music, making it a memorable day out for Disney lovers of all ages.
What is Disney’s Hocus Pocus in Concert?
The concert experience sees the complete film shown on the big screen while an orchestra performs the original musical score live alongside it. The score was composed by Emmy Award-winning and GRAMMY-nominated composer John Debney, whose music helps bring every spooky and hilarious moment to life.
The performance begins at 2:30pm, making it an ideal family-friendly Halloween outing before the evening’s trick-or-treating begins.
Why We Still Love Hocus Pocus
First released in 1993 and directed by Kenny Ortega, Hocus Pocus has become one of Disney’s most beloved Halloween classics.
The story follows teenager Max, his younger sister Dani and their friend Allison after they accidentally awaken the infamous Sanderson sisters on Halloween night in Salem. Determined to become immortal, the mischievous witches set out to steal the life force of the town’s children, only to find themselves repeatedly outsmarted by the determined trio and their unlikely feline companion, Thackery Binx.
The film features memorable performances from Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy as the unforgettable Sanderson sisters, alongside Omri Katz, Thora Birch and Vinessa Shaw.
A Magical Halloween Day Out
Live-to-film concerts have become increasingly popular over recent years, offering fans the chance to rediscover favourite films with the added atmosphere of a full orchestra performing every note live.
Whether you’ve watched Hocus Pocus every October since childhood or you’re introducing it to the next generation for the very first time, this promises to be a wonderfully atmospheric way to celebrate the Halloween season.
