We all have a different view on luxury when it comes to owning our own home. To some people, it’s the grand mansions that all the celebrities seem to have. To others, it is the uniqueness of a home that makes it so luxurious. Whatever it is that floats your boat, it really is never too far away. Most people associate luxury with a huge price tag, but this isn’t how it needs to be. Yes, some of the things you’ll be might cost a penny or two, but when you can sit in your home and feel proud of that luxurious look, it’ll all be worth it. If you’re struggling to know what additions to make, then we have some great tips in store for you. You don’t need to be living in the land of the rich and famous to do it either.
The Outside
The outside of your house is just as important as the inside. The front, in particular, is the main thing people are going to notice about your house. You need to try and keep it as prim and proper as you can. We’ve all been past one of those houses where the grass is so overgrown you can barely see the house, and there’s just no lighting that makes it look magical. This is where you can make your luxurious. The driveways say a lot about your house, getting a really smart looking one can mean the difference between it looking old and outdated, and new and neat. There is a range of concreting services available that you can choose from. Just make sure you get one that is going to compliment your style and isn’t going to compromise the accessibility of your house. Line the drive with some cute laps to give it that runway effect. It’s better than just having that one outdoor lamp that most houses have.
From the front to the back. The garden plays just as an important part at the front. Everyone loves a good garden, and it is the one thing that people seem to compliment the most when they go round a house. There’s just so much potential a garden can offer as well. If you’re wanting to go all-out luxury, you need to think of the landscape first, making the most of your space is the best thing you can do. First, make sure the grass is as green and as lush as possible. You want to try and achieve that football pitch pre-game look. Then, for that added touch of class, the stepping stone look going through a part of your grass leading to a pond is such a cute, yet luxurious little touch to your garden. It gives it that bit of character that it would have otherwise lacked.
Then you need to think about accessories. If a hot tub doesn’t pop into your mind you do not think on the same luxury wavelength that we are. Getting a tub for your garden is going to transform those boring Friday nights to something so much better. It’s also something your guests are going to love. A bit of a decking area, covered in case of bad weather, with a hot tub and some lights around it in the centre is exactly what your garden needs. You’ll be edging towards the rich and famous look if you do something like this. You don’t necessarily need to deck the whole garden, just a corner patch with a couple of stairs going up will look amazing.
Inside
The inside is going to be what matters most to a lot of you reading this. It is the place you’re going to spend most of your time, and probably the place that you can make feel so luxurious. One of the easiest ways of doing so is going marble. Marble, as you may know, is rather expensive, but marble looking tiles aren’t. Yes, this one might be a bit more expensive, but if you can achieve that look throughout the whole of the bottom of your house then you’re edging towards the Kardashian level of cool interior design. If you want to keep things a little cosy, then you’re going to need to keep at least the living room carpeted, but to be honest, marble look flooring in the living room just doesn’t look right anyway.
So, now we’re talking about the living room, we might as well talk about what you can put in it to make it look a little more luxurious. You need to get that contrast if you’re going to achieve a good look. Greys and whites at the minute are perfect. White flooring, however, is such a risky move, especially if you have children. Go for a nice grey carpet, but try and keep it light if possible. Then go leather for the sofa, it’s going to be so much easier to clean. A cream leather sofa is going to look lush against the grey carpet. Furnish it with some grey pillows, at least of them being fluffy, and make sure your walls follow the same theme. It’s up to you which way you go, you can either have one grey and the rest white. Or one white and the rest grey. All white with one grey will help to bring some light into the room that the grey carpet might have otherwise taken away.
The kitchen should also be one of the main rooms that you try and focus on. There’s so much potential to bring so much luxury through the kitchen. Hopefully, you’ll have liked our idea of the marble look flooring, and definitely should carry it on into the kitchen. If you have some money for a little refurb, some black countertops and cupboards against the white flooring is going to look amazing. Then you can fill it with some cool tech that’s really going to bring it into the 21st century. A KitchenAid is great for aiding your cooking, and it somehow makes a kitchen look so much more luxurious.
Yes true, luxurious doesn’t mean expensive. We can be luxurious in our own way on how we perceive things. This does not only constitute on home improvements but on the reality of life as well.
So true, it’s a shame that more people can’t take it on board.
