Mamma Mia Tickets – Novello Theatre Review & Guide

Last week, I had the joy of celebrating our birthdays with my Mum and my daughter Lillie by heading to see Mamma Mia the Musical at the Novello Theatre in London. It was the ultimate feel-good experience and the perfect treat for a special mother/daughter day out.

Novello Theatre Grand Circle

We booked Mamma Mia London tickets in advance as part of the Kids Week promotion and were lucky to get excellent seats in the Grand Circle (G20, G21, G22). These seats offered a great view of the stage, plenty of leg room, and were surprisingly comfortable – something every night at the theatre should have!

Why Mamma Mia is the Ultimate Feel-Good Musical

Mamma Mia tickets

The Mamma Mia musical is one of those rare shows that combines an irresistibly funny tale, heartwarming characters, and timeless music. Set on a Greek island idyll, the story follows Sophie, who dreams of having her dad walk her down the aisle. With three possible dads on a Greek island to choose from, chaos and hilarity ensue. The show is written by Catherine Johnson and directed by Phyllida Lloyd, making it one of the most successful jukebox musicals of all time.

From start to finish, the performance was bursting with energy. Mazz Murray as Donna was sensational, delivering powerhouse vocals alongside heartfelt emotion. Other standout performances included Kate Graham and Nicola-Dawn Brook, whose chemistry and humour shone on stage. I must also mention Mia Anthony Coffield, who brought Sophie’s journey to life with charm and grace.

We were so lucky to see Mazz as Donna, as she has now announced that she will be leaving her role in October after 10 years!!

The Magic of ABBA’s Timeless Songs

Mamma Mia

Of course, no Mamma Mia review would be complete without celebrating the music. The show is packed with ABBA songs in Mamma Mia, from the iconic Super Trouper to The Winner Takes It All and the unmissable Dancing Queen. The audience couldn’t help but tap their feet and even sing along quietly (though the cast’s vocals outshone us all!). These timeless songs create an atmosphere that makes the production not just a musical, but an exhilarating smash-hit musical.

It’s easy to see why this feel-good West End favourite has been delighting West End audiences since premiering at the Prince Edward Theatre on 6 April 1999. Now currently playing at the Novello, it remains one of the top London west end musicals to see.

Booking Mamma Mia Tickets at the Novello Theatre

Novello Theatre

If you’re planning a visit to the Novello Theatre, I highly recommend booking in advance to get the best view. The Novello Theatre box office and official London ticket providers make booking straightforward, and you can also check seat maps to choose between the stalls and dress circle tickets or opt for the grand circle like we did.

When you discuss your visit to the Novello, don’t forget to consider seating for children. Children under the age of 3 may be refused entry, and children do have separate seats, so keep that in mind if booking for little ones. I wouldn’t say this is a show for very young children.

You can find more details about London theatre shows via the Official London Theatre site or read about the history of Mamma Mia on the Mamma Mia official website. For insights into ABBA’s legacy, visit the ABBA official site.

Why You Should See This Unforgettable Musical

Mazz Murray Izi Maxwell

Whether you’re looking for a cheap Mamma Mia ticket deal or want the full experience with premium seats, this is a West End show you simply can’t miss. It’s a story of love, family, and laughter that feels just as fresh today as it did when it opened more than 20 years ago.

The combination of three very different dads, the hilarious interactions, and the irresistibly funny script makes it impossible not to smile. By the end of the show, everyone was up on their feet, clapping along to Dancing Queen. It truly is the ultimate feel-good musical.

If you’re thinking of booking Mamma Mia tickets, I can honestly say from experience – go for it. Whether it’s for a birthday treat, family outing, or just a much-needed escape, you’ll leave the Novello Theatre uplifted and ready to book your next trip to a London theatre.
