Sure, farms are everywhere in the UK. The chances are that you and the family have already visited a farm or a petting zoo and you’re not massively craving a repeat experience.

However, Wales provides an incredible choice in where you can go and what you can see. From visiting bug farms to being able to bottle feed lambs and go for tractor rides, the possibilities are truly endless.

You can appease all members of the family with an experience that offers a little something for everybody (even the odd pony ride!)

  • Family Come Dine With Me

Why spend a fortune on catered accommodation when you could have self-catering accommodation for a lower cost and have a lot more fun? Cosy and comfortable, cottages are some of the greatest places to stay when holidaying with the family.

With such great local produce, you could make the most of the nearby markets and stalls by sorting out dinners yourself. For an even more interesting take, why not give everyone a night to cook a meal? Score it out of ten and at the end of the week reveal the winner! Fun, food and freedom and, for one of you, the honour of being the Welsh holiday Come Dine With Me champion!

  • Free Festivals

What can be better than going to a festival with the whole family? That’s right, going to a free festival with the family in tow.

Every July and August, Cardiff is home to one of the UK’s largest outdoor festivals, offering events that are suitable for the whole family, from the kids right up to the grandparents.

With the option to listen to great music, have a laugh with some up and coming comedians and watch some quality street theatre, it would be hard to turn down going for a look!

  • Get creative

This might be an instance when it’s not the end product but the taking part that counts. Perhaps you could try your own scavenger hunt with Treasure Run.

Fun for the whole family, it’s a great way to spend a rainy day for everyone, be it for a three-year-old or someone who’s ninety-three! It’s a sure bonding experience that’ll bring a smile to everyone’s faces. You can choose from several different locations in Pembrokeshire.

  • Have a private tour and discover exciting new things

It’s not the cheapest option, but with Wales being home to some of the most stunning sights in the United Kingdom, it’s well worth the money to be able to see it all up close.

Led by a personal guide, you get picked up from your hotel and get to discover the most scenic parts of Wales, depending on where you go for your private tour, and it’s an experience you will never forget.

With so many different tours available, including a tour of the Isle of Anglesey where you can learn all about its rich history, to a tour of Snowdonia where you can take in some gorgeous, scenic views, the options are endless.

Led by a guide who knows everything there is to know about their area, you’ll come back wiser, happier and full of Welsh fresh air – a perfect way to end your Welsh experience.
