On our recent visit to Blenheim Palace, we couldn’t resist taking a peek at Adventure Play – the palace’s immersive outdoor play space that’s been designed to spark imagination, movement, and joy in children of all ages. While my own children are now a little too old for the Pip and Posy adventures, we wanted to explore them on behalf of our readers who are planning a family day out.
Pip and Posy at Blenheim Palace This August Bank Holiday

0From 23rd to 25th August, families can enjoy a very special treat as the much-loved Pip and Posy costumed characters will be making appearances at Adventure Play throughout the day. These character appearances are only happening on the bank holiday weekend, so it’s definitely one to pop in the diary if you have little Pip and Posy fans at home.
Pip and Posy Play at the Palace
At the moment, Adventure Play is home to Pip and Posy Play at the Palace – a joyful, hands-on adventure inspired by the award-winning picture books published by Nosy Crow and the hit TV series created by Magic Light Pictures. We had a wander through and could instantly see how much younger children would adore this colourful, character-inspired play area.
Kids Eat Free at Blenheim Palace This Summer
Another highlight running until 5th September is the Kids Eat Free offer. From Monday to Friday, little ones can tuck into two free slices of pizza at the Pizzeria (Margherita or Pepperoni) plus a carton of juice – all free when an adult meal is purchased. A brilliant way to round off a day of exploring.
The Rainbow Treasure Hunt

Blenheim Palace has also launched a brand-new experience within Adventure Play – the Rainbow Treasure Hunt. Inspired by an episode from the Pip and Posy TV series (shown on Sky Kids and Channel 5’s Milkshake!), children can follow the rainbow clues to join Pip and Posy on a playful search around the space.
Palace and Play Pass – Great Value for Families

To make the most of everything, families will need a Palace and Play Pass, which gives them unlimited access to both Blenheim Palace and Adventure Play for a whole year. For a family of four (two adults and two children), the pass costs £165, which is excellent value if you plan to visit more than once.
Summer Fun in the Walled Garden
Beyond Adventure Play, the Walled Garden is buzzing with extra activities throughout the summer. Think hula hoop skipping, wheelbarrow races, hobby horse races, and spin the hoop – all guaranteed to keep children entertained. And for animal lovers, don’t miss the much-loved stables where a different horse is introduced every weekend between 10am–3pm.
