Great Yarmouth beaches form a stunning coastline with something to suit everyone, from quiet deserted beaches with sand dunes and not another soul in sight to traditional seaside family fun beaches with bouncy castles, deck chairs and donkey rides usually found at Hemsby, Great Yarmouth and Gorleston-on-Sea. Don’t miss the Golden Mile along Great Yarmouth seafront when you’re here. In Great Yarmouth itself, with Britannia Pier to the north and Wellington Pier to the south, Central Beach stretches along the Golden Mile of seafront amusements, entertainment and attractions with plenty of restaurants and cafés, making it one of the best places to visit. Gorleston-on-Sea with its huge bay, children’s paddling pool and yacht pond is a firm family favourite beach along with the spacious beach at Hemsby Hole.
Escape inland for wide-open skies, Norfolk countryside, quaint Norfolk villages and the famous Norfolk Broads where day boats, canoes and stand up paddleboards can be hired. The nearest place to hire a day boat in the borough is in Martham or St. Olaves. Rollesby, Ormesby and Filby surround the famous, tranquil Trinity Broads with some fabulous walks and great places to eat and admire the view where rowing boats can also be hired.
There are some great open spaces and parks, with nautically themed playgrounds for the kids to tear around.
