A trailblazing new show blending Irish dance, theatre, cinematic visuals, and a breathtaking musical score is set to tour the UK this summer. After captivating audiences across the US, Celtic Throne—Psalter of Ireland will make its UK debut in June and July 2025, bringing an epic story of ancient legends to stages in Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Derby, and London.

Celtic Throne to Tour the UK for the First Time

Celtic Throne Tour

Celtic Throne is unlike any other show. Developed by Armstrong Dance, this high-energy production takes traditional Irish dance and transforms it into a cinematic experience. Described as a fusion of Riverdance, a West End musical, and a Hollywood movie, the show is directed by Brad Macdonald and choreographed by Irish folk dance legend John Carey, a former male lead of Lord of the Dance and eight-time World Champion.

“This is a show made by families for families,” said Macdonald. “Our dancers are brothers, sisters, cousins—audiences are genuinely moved by the chemistry on stage.”

Psalter of Ireland: A Story Rooted in Celtic History

Celtic Throne— presents an epic story from the mysterious annals of ancient Ireland. It follows the journey of Ollav Fola, a revered sage and legislator commissioned to perpetuate the legacy of Jerusalem in the British Isles. This sixth-century B.C. narrative is brought to life with innovative choreography, cinematic visuals, and a gigantic LED screen.

The awe-inspiring musical score was composed by Brian Byrne, a Golden Globe-nominated composer known for his work across Hollywood, stage, and with artists such as Bono and Sinéad O’Connor. Byrne also composed the music for Heartbeat of Home, another major Irish dance show.

A Unique Blend of Irish Dance, Theatre, and Technology

Featuring a cast of 40+ performers, including live musicians, the show is enhanced by stunning costumes, lighting and special effects, and dramatic video storytelling. The choreography includes not only Celtic dance, but also jaw-dropping gymnastics and martial arts, offering a promising incredible blend of theatre, culture, and performance art.

“We’re not just doing Irish dance—we’re embracing theatre and cinema,” explained principal dancer and choreographer Jude Flurry. “We’re even using AI to enhance our movements.”

Jude’s sister, Vienna Flurry, also a lead dancer and singer, adds: “I’m living my dream, performing with my family and friends to some of the most beautiful music ever written.”
