We watched New Year’s Eve on New Year’s Eve!

Being heavily pregnant and not in the best of health this New Year we didn’t have many options for how to see in 2013, so a night in was on the cards. Once the children were securely snuggled up in their beds, we cracked open the wine (Hubby and Mum) and the boxes of chocolates (me!) and delved into our DVD collection to see what took our fancy. What could be more apt than the DVD entitled New Year’s Eve from Warner Brothers.

If you liked Love Actually or Valentine’s Day then you’ll love New Year’s Eve. It’s one of those movies that features a great cast with lots of different stories which all come together at the end. We were kept on our toes throughout thinking “she’s meeting him”, “he’s married to her” and so on, only to find that we had it all completely wrong. The film will have you laughing out loud, crying into your drinks and thinking about your own New Year’s past and present.

I never thought I would say it but one of my favourite actors these days is Zac Effron who plays a bicycle courier with a heart who changes the life of Michelle Pfeiffer (as you’ve never seen her before), personally I think he has really grown as an actor and I haven’t seen a film with him in which I haven’t enjoyed (I wasn’t a fan of High School Musical). Other great names include Halle Berry, Jessica Biel, Jon Bon Jovi, Abigail Breslin, Robert De Niro, Josh Duhamel, Hector Elizondo, Katherine Heigl, Ashton Kutcher, Seth Meyers, Lee Michele, Sarah Jessica Parker, Til Schweiger, Hilary Swank and Sofia Vergara.

What did you do to welcome in the New Year?

Watched the fireworks on telly by myself. Danny made a point of going to bed at 11.55pm, just to be all anti-establishment!!! Haha!! To be fair we’d been up VERY late the night before celebrating my 40th (jeez, that word still sticks in my throat…) 😉
