  1. If you hear head lice are going around check your child’s hair (actually check everyone in the family!) when you wash it, the base of the neck is a good place to start. That was always the first place my Gran looked x

  2. Ensure all brushes and towels are clean, condition the childs hair and use a nit comb, this is really successful in getting rid of the nits and eggs.

  3. We use a spray made of tea tree oil drops and water, sprayed on the hair before school each day, and regular shampoos with tea tree oil extract, seems to work, we haven’t seen any of the horrors for a couple of years now…. fingers crossed.

  4. I got nits (oh, the shame) when I was pregnant – I couldn’t use the harsh treatments – my mum bought a bag of bark from some herbalist and boiled it on the hob!! She looked like a witch…and it didn’t really work!!!

  5. I am sick to the back teeth of the same parents not treating their children. Even though my daughter goes to school smelling from head to toe of tea tree oil and having her hair tied back she still gets infected and it costs a fortune for the ointments. Parents should be charged with neglect when they refuse to treat their children.

    • got to say im not battling it at school, they are very good at alerting us all.. its OH’s daughter, her mum just cannot be bothered i assume, its not that she doesnt know as you dont even have to look, just sit near her any you can see them crawling, its awful & REALLY winds me up!! i do her har when shes here but she spends one night a week here and the rest of the week at her mums. poor little girl 🙁

  6. I put my dauhters hair in a tight bun, my aunty also recommend ed your products as my cousi has been using it since starting school and hasnt caught one, she has long thick hair so easy target without your products

  7. Tea tree oil and / or conditioner and a nit comb seems to work for my grandchildren. Their mother keeps their hair short so if they have the problem it is easier to deal with.

  8. It’s hard to avoid head lice with young children if there is an infestation in their class but if you keep your child’s hair tied back, use this Vosene repellent spray and shampoo and check with a nit comb for them regularly then you are doing your best!! 🙂

  9. Apparently they like really really clean hair. If you know of an outbreak, be mindful. For example, I wash my daughters hair every other night/every other 2 nights when an outbreak at nursery starts x

  10. tea tree oil is brilliant, vosene spray & shampoo is great for prevention and using a hairdryer as they cant stand the heat, hairdryerone side hoover the other and away they will go! 🙂
