Tractor Ted

I grew up in a small Market Town that was surrounded by miles and miles of open land so tractors were a daily sight for me, particularly when out on walks with my Grandad. I still don’t know what the fascination was with them, although honestly for me I loved the Combine Harvesters the best. I remember my friend’s son from a very young age was such a fan of tractors that he was given his very own motorised tractor to play on in the garden – lucky boy!

Tractor Ted

Tractorland Ltd is proud to introduce you to Tractor Ted and their fantastic range of products which have all been developed in the UK by a small team of specialists with experience in media, agriculture and preschool education.

What is Tractor Ted about?

image The aim of the Tractor Ted series is to give young children an insight into real life on the farm using real-life footage and has successfully won their hearts as well as their parents because it brings good values as well as teaching the children facts about good food, farming and the countryside. Created by Alexandra Heard, a mother of three, because her children would often ask her to stop so that they could watch the machines at work on the fields of farmer David Horler. Tractor Ted is endorsed by educators and used in lessons as part of the national curriculum for the Early Years Foundation Stage. Fans of Tractor Ted are in good company too with the likes of celebrity broadcaster Clare Balding, eventer William Fox-Pitt and Sports Personality of the Year A P McCoy.

There are 15 titles to choose from in the DVD range including new additions “Meets More Animals” and “Meets the Forage Harvester”. The DVDs show you the machines in action and use humour and sing-along sections to entertain the children whilst they are learning. The DVDs last approximately 40 minutes are rated E: exempt from classification. RRP £9.99.

We were sent a DVD to review which was an instant hit with Little Bean, she wanted to know “are we going to buy a tractor Mummy?” – erm no, I don’t think so! We visited a farm twice earlier this year and the children loved it so the DVD was great for reliving memories and an opportunity for Little Bean to recognise some of the animals she had seen. She loved to sing along to the songs and Ollie fetched his ride-on truck which I assumed was him pretending to drive a tractor. Needless to say, they have asked to watch the DVD every day since so I think that is a thumbs-up from them!

Tractor Ted Breakfast Set

Also new to the Tractor Ted range of goodies includes the melamine breakfast set of the mug, plate and bowl which I know would go down a storm with tractor loving preschoolers. Not everyone wants a Fairy or a Pirate now do they?
