Last year on the 4th December I started myself on a new journey of learning, I took my first DSLR Photography lesson, something I had been wanting to do for years. After my family, Photography is my greatest passion and something that I want to keep working on throughout my life because I just love to look back through my photographs and more often than not they raise a warm smile or a giggle as I remember the moment the photograph was taken. For that reason I have taken part in a number of different DSLR Photography lessons throughout the past year and although I’m certainly no David Bailey just yet, every now and then I hit a gem with my Photography and can see the improvements.
It’s been great having the lessons but I couldn’t achieve it without the help of a good camera. I bought my first Sony Camcorder when Little Bean was born and since then have also bought a Sony Cybershot Compact which I love. I asked the man in the shop for a digital compact that was as near as possible to an SLR and he recommended the HX5V (a couple of years ago) and it does exactly what I want it to. Since my lessons I have even dared to start using it in Manual mode with confidence. Like most people though I do love a shiny new gadget so I have been looking to upgrade and have been amazed by the latest offerings. There’s a camera for every budget and skill level, the hardest part is deciding which one. What do you look for in a camera?
Last Saturday Hubby and I took the toddlers down to London for the afternoon to see the big smoke all trimmed up for the festive season and naturally such a trip wouldn’t be complete without my camera to record it all. I wanted to capture not just what I saw, but how I saw it. I wanted to capture the essence of Christmas with its twinkly lights, anticipation and a chill in the air. I was asked if I would like to share this really useful infographic with hints and tips on how to get the best out of your photography this Christmas.
