Three feminine looks for Spring/Summer 2017

Featured PostEvery now and then we catch a glimpse of warmer weather and sunnier days in our midst, it’s the time of year that I get excited because I can look forward to un-boxing my Summer wardrobe. It’s also the time that we can start scouring the shops and the internet for new season fashion buys.

Last week my Mum and I enjoyed a lovely afternoon out shopping, not shopping for anything in particular really, just browsing and having a lazy lunch. Whilst we were out to lunch we sat in the window of our local Pret-a-Manger, people watching as you do and commenting on how some women just really have the knack of carrying off beautiful style and being on trend!

This inspired me to look at the new Spring/Summer 2017 collections that many UK fashion brands have already released. In particular I checked out the retailer, JD Williams, who are known for their plus size clothing, but also cater to so many different sizes from 8 up to 34! So there is definitely something for everyone.

Here are three outfit ideas that are on trend this season. I do love following the fashion trends but I do so by incorporating key elements that I like into my existing wardrobe. I find this approach suits me and my lifestyle a lot more than regularly updating and refreshing my collection. My top tip is to find fashion pieces that are flattering for your figure, rather than choosing for an outfit which looks great but feels uncomfortable to wear.

Natural, earthy colours and tones are everywhere at the moment. And with wedding season around the corner, this dress would make a lovely wedding guest outfit. I would team this up with some rose gold jewellery and accessories.

The Bell Sleeve is another trend for the season, you can see it everywhere and it’s a look that I love! Whilst it doesn’t maybe suit me as much as I would like – I’m not great with frills and ruffles – I love the layered look which is flattering for most. Teamed with a pretty longline necklace to draw the eye down the body I think this is a super-feminine look which would be perfect when teamed with jeans or trousers.

At first glance this dress bucks the trend because the stripes go across the body but they are big and bold and the drop off to a diagonal stripe at the side which draws the eye down and the dipped hem which just covers the knee to leave those sexy calves on show is very flattering. This is an ideal look for a garden party or even a wedding reception.
