The Gallery: 3 Words

Tara Cain decided to test us a little further this week for the Gallery with the theme 3 Words!  And so here are my 3 Words

It’s a very rare thing for me to ‘big myself up’ so to speak but do you know something, I’m feeling pretty darn impressed with myself right now.  In March this year I set out on a journey I thought I’d never have to take, I began a diet!  Never in my 35 years have I felt the need to diet but all those people have said to me over the years “just you wait to you have children” were right, having children played havoc with my figure and my eating habits.  After Little Bean I knew I was on the heavier side but because I was planning on having more children I didn’t worry too much.

When I fell pregnant with Beanie Boy I made sure I didn’t make the same mistakes as I did in my pregnancy with Little Bean, I stayed away from the milkshakes and the creme eggs and I didn’t eat everything in sight because I was “eating for two”.  I definitely carried very differently with Beanie Boy, I was all bump and lots of it whereas with Little Bean I was all woman, with a lot of bump and a few extras.

My husband took this photograph of me at Christmas and I was shocked to say the least, thank goodness I wasn’t looking the camera, that could have been a whole lot worse.  But this picture was enough to make me realise I needed to make some changes.  I began to cut back a little on my snacking, I tried to up my exercise and I started to see a little improvement but nothing to get excited about.  Then at the beginning of the year I saw a post on BritMums offering the chance for Mums to trial the Jenny Craig Diet.  I certainly didn’t have anything to lose, other than the additional weight of course so I applied and was overjoyed to be chosen.

Three months later, I’m happy to report that I have lost 24lbs in total and I feel amazing.  The first week of the diet was hard because the portion sizes were obviously smaller than I was used to but I soon got used to it and it was more than worth it.  I have managed to unbox all of my pre-Little Bean-pregnancy clothes and they all fit.  People keep commenting on how good I look and so my confidence is growing day by day.

Got a few minutes to spare?  Why don’t you hop over to Sticky Fingers and see what other offerings you can find?

Well done – 24lbs is really great, although I’m trying to work out where they have gone from!!!

Yay well done, I’ve been wondering how you’re getting on so that’s great news. Honestly my clothes are falling off me now, I have so much that doesn’t fit me anymore and I’m finally back into my pre-pregnancy clothes from years ago. Keep up the good work x
