Childhood obesity is becoming more of an increasing worry with the likes of computer games keeping our youngsters indoors and on the their bottoms. Thankfully my Beans are fans of being outdoors so the minute the sun shines all the indoor toys are abandoned in favour of the great outdoors and that’s the way that I like it. It’s all about striking the right balance, a little bit of everything in moderation is key. LeapFrog who have been a staple brand in our household ever since the Beans arrived recognise the importance of keeping children active and have come up with a great little gadget which is sure to encourage children to keep moving and healthy. The LeapBand is the first wearable activity tracker for children, it features their very own personalised virtual pet. The tracker has 50 different activities and challenges and the more they move, the more points they earn for their pet. It also has a colourful fit-band style with high-res colour screen, making it aspirational for kids. It is designed to help children learn about developing healthy habits.
In a couple of weeks we shall be testing one of these which couldn’t have come at a better time. The Beans have been particularly interested in the Fitbug Orb which I have been wearing for a little over a month now so to have something similar for themselves will be great and they can’t wait to get started with it.
