After school fun at Ferry Meadows . . .

Tonight after school we popped over to Peterborough to do a couple of jobs and since the sun was shining the Beans asked if we could go for a walk at Ferry Meadows so who was I to argue. We didn’t have long but just long enough for the to have a scoot and 10 minutes in the play area.

Little Bean was fascinated by the little Moor Hen that we saw, she said “look at that funny duck Mummy” and wanted to know what sort of noise it made but honestly, I didn’t have a clue and that one wasn’t being particularly talkative.

All three Beans loved having a go on the swings . . .

Little Bean is getting very brave on the ‘fireman’s pole’ and was even teaching a couple of younger girls how to do it too.

Jelly Bean asked to borrow my sunglasses when I changed his nappy as it was too bright for him, but the cheeky little monkey wasn’t so keen to give them back!

The new play area is now finished at Ferry Meadows and looks brilliant but the Beans told me they would like to come back another day when they have more time to play in the sand and water – how very organised of them!

Little Bean seems to be growing up so fast at the moment. She has taken to carrying a handbag with her nearly everywhere that she goes (she carried one around London all day on Saturday) and in her handbag she carries this pretend plastic mobile phone. She takes it out of her bag at random intervals to ‘take photographs’ (I can’t think who she has been watching) but she did make me laugh when she said “I need to get a new laptop as this phone doesn’t connect properly for me to download my photographs”. Lol, that’s my girl!!

What do you do after school?

  1. What a great park to stop by after school and wow you do pack a lot into a short space of time. I hope you do make it back here again. Lovely to have the long evenings to take advantage of like this. Thank you for sharing with me on Country Kids

    • Ah I got there in the end 🙂 It is a lovely park to visit and there is so much to see and do there, you could have a different experience each time you visit. We are the masters of cramming things into short spaces of time!!
