One of the best things about being a Mummy (other than the gorgeous little bundle who loves you unconditionally) is the excuse to buy a new bag!! Us ladies can NEVER have too many bags now can we?
When i was a first time Mummy i used the changing bag that came with my travel system, not exactly stylish but it did the job. As time went on I found myself wanting something better, something that said more about me and less about my pushchair.
I kept thinking back to an interview I did with Alex Longmore where we discussed fashion for pregnant women and new Mums. I asked how you could make yourself feel better when you don’t feel like you are looking your best and she said accessorising is a great way to spruce up your image and make you feel good about yourself.
The biggest accessory you can use as a new Mummy is a changing bag and nothing screams stylish as much as the Mamami by Chet Patel. It doesn’t even look like a changing bag – from the outside! Taking a peek inside you can tell that it has been designed by a Mum.
For starters there is the zip which allows the bag to open fully. I love the fabric too, it looks clean and fresh. The large clear pockets are not only wipe clean but they make it super easy to see at a glance what you are looking for. My bags tend to become the Bermuda triangle as i forget what i have put in each pocket, things have a habit of going in and never coming out.
There is a gorgeous insulated bottle bag to keep baby’s bottle warm/cool and a matching changing mat which folds up nice and small.
On the outside there are two good size pockets with magnetic fastening and a phone pocket inside the front for easy access.
I chose the silver bag and i love it, i have received so many compliments and people saying how nice it is to have a changing bag that doesn’t shout “look at me, i am a changing bag!”. It is made from real leather and the insides are all wipe clean.
Chet is without doubt one very clever lady who has really thought this through on every level because a Mum might always be a Mum but she can still be her own person too! I am just starting to remember that!
